Rescission ~ We met. We got off. We went home. We weren’t lovers. We weren’t even friends. We were f- buddies. It worked… Until it didn’t. AH, ExB.
Rated: Fiction M – English – Romance/Drama – Bella & Edward – Chapters: 11 – Words: 27,416 – Reviews: 1,557 – Favs: 1,305 – Follows: 1,986 – Updated: 09-22-13 – Published: 07-26-13 – Status: Complete – id: 9533161
Rescission by GeekChic12 is a short but consuming story; it’s one I read as a WiP, where I vied for updates, and dropped everything to read them. As stated in the final author’s note, “In contract law, rescission has been defined as the unmaking of a contract for the mutual benefit of both parties.” And that is the definite crux of this Edward and Bella love (?) story, as they begin a mutual “fuck-buddy” relationship that is hot…and well, HOT! Let’s define the beginning of their mutual agreement…
My body knew his so well—his touch, his smell, his taste. And what it felt like when he tasted me. But my mind reeled. We didn’t go out in public together. We had a system. It started with a text. It might be a direct I need a fuck, or a more explicit I want to hear your fingers sliding in and out of your pussy as you suck my dick, with a time and location.
We met. We got off. We went home. We weren’t lovers. We weren’t even friends. We were fuck-buddies. It worked. To keep it working, we had rules. A contract of sorts.
Ah, but, did it work? And what happens if – and when – those “rules” get blurred or “bent”? Because when Bella’s boss, Dr. Rose Cullen, decides Dr. Swan, needs to meet her hot bartender brother, Edward Cullen, that is exactly what happens, and things might just get a bit more complicated… *wink*
Excerpt from Chapter 1
Sitting in a booth in a trendy Seattle restaurant, Dr. Cullen’s husband, Emmett, was cracking us up with his unique take on life as a stay-at-home dad—from shooting down philandering mommies in their playgroup to adding their three-year-old neighbor to his ever-growing list of boys who would never be allowed to date his daughters.
“Just the other day, Lily went…”
I didn’t register anything else Emmett said after I glanced toward the door and saw him.
I noticed his distinctive swagger before I even glanced at his face. It was less of a walk and more of a sex-prowl. How could he use that walk so casually, in the middle of a busy restaurant? And more importantly, what the fuck was he doing here?
Would he think this broke our agreement if he saw me on a date?
I looked down and away from him, trying to hide behind my hair. Maybe he wouldn’t notice me. I peeked over again, and Rosalie and Emmett shared a confused look before peering over their shoulders. He was headed straight for us.
I silently chanted, “Turn. Turn. Turn,” in my head.
Rosalie looked back at me for a moment with an excited smile before turning back toward him, standing to offer a quick hug. His eyes widened as he caught sight of me just before her arms went around him. “Edward, I’m so glad you made it,” she said. “I was getting a little worried.”
Of fucking course. There’re only about four million people in the Seattle metropolitan area, half of whom are men. Why wouldn’t ‘E’, the barman I’d met a couple months ago, also be Dr. Cullen’s brother, Edward, who owns a restaurant?
And my blind date.
I was pulled from my thoughts when Rosalie said my name. “Isabella, this is my brother, Edward Cullen, famous restaurateur—”
Fuck-buddy Rule #5: No meeting each other’s friends and family—no good can come from this.
Rule status: Bent
And so the rescission begins… At the end of each chapter, we learn the “fuck-buddy rule” pertaining to that chapter’s events, and its consequent “rule status.” But, as the story progresses, it appears those rules are more difficult to abide by, and internal struggles ensue, especially for Dr. Swan. Edward and Bella do continue to be…something – it’s complex, hot-as-hell, very sexy and sometimes even sweet, but when things inevitably change and emotions do become involved and intertwined… What does that continue to do to those rules? Where does that leave Edward and Bella’s agreement of no kisses, no emotional attachment? Well, I’ll let you discover that for yourself as you read this sweet, complete story, because I thoroughly enjoyed watching the – *cough* disintegration *cough* of their rules – progression of their relationship. After all, aren’t rules meant to be broken? *grins wickedly*
Someday ~ Social reject Bella Swan finds her whole life changing before her eyes after her first encounter with the cute boy at the Concrete Canal. Three years later, she shows her uppity classmates that she’s so much more than they ever thought possible.
Rated: Fiction M – English – Angst/Romance – Bella & Edward – Words: 7,581 – Reviews: 81 – Favs: 228 – Follows: 67 – Published: 10-16-10 – Status: Complete – id: 6403322
I had to share this inspirational one shot with you today; to say I was moved, and it touched my heart deeply, would be very apt. Someday has been around for quiet some time, as it was a winning entry in the 2010 A Picture Says it All Anonymous Contest, but I just recently had the pleasure of reading it. IMHO, the talented author, A Cullen Wannabe, has portrayed a relatable Bella with a beautiful soul, as the story tells the tale of a high school girl who endures the daily ridicule and bullying by her peers—for a variety of, sadly, typical reasons. And for anyone else who has ever suffered from this, I know you will empathize with her.
Your heart will also break for Bella, as did mine, when her eighteenth birthday becomes, “the Worst Day Ever!” But, what is truly captivating about the story is the heartwarming turn of events, when a new student in town helps Bella find a new lease on life…that all starts on a Concrete Canal wall…
I don’t know how long I stayed like that, hiding from the world, but suddenly a sound made me look up in surprise. A few feet to the right of me and further down the bank, near where my bag landed, sat a boy with hair that reflected in the sunlight with hints of red and brown. He faced the water with a guitar in his hand and strummed it quietly. I watched in awe as he began to sing, his warm vibrant voice echoing hauntingly off the concrete and water surrounding him.
“When you’re down and all hope is lost, just remember life is short.
Shallow people break your heart, beat you down and make you hurt.
But time will pass quickly dear, before you know you’ve moved on,
To a place and a time not dictated by the small people you have fought.”
Stay strong, stand tall, be beautiful, you see,
Because no matter what they say, you’re beautiful to me.
Don’t crumble dear, stand strong and clear, be who you want to be.
Be individual and free.
And someday they will all see what only a few of us can see.”
He continued to strum, never looking at me, and yet it almost felt like he was singing for me. His tune continued on before another tune intermingled a moment before it swapped out completely, his fingers nimbly plucking out the tune of Happy Birthday. I gasped, staring with wide eyes with my hand over my mouth as he glanced over his shoulder with a small smirk.
I stared for a long moment before finally he stopped strumming and nodded his head, as if he were trying to tug me over with the motion alone. I faltered for a moment before slowly rising to my feet and carefully moving the few feet to stand beside him. He looked up with a smile as his hands returned to strumming.
“I was beginning to think you weren’t going to actually come over here. Would have been a shame to not get to meet the girl that inspired in the course of a few seconds the first song I’ve actually been able to write on the spot in years.”
I reached out to grab my bag, tugging it toward me awkwardly, not knowing what to say. He just chuckled at me before stopping his hands again to reach his right one over toward me.
“I’m Edward, nice to meet you.”—–
Yes, I sighed and swooned, too. And that is only the beginning of this one shot full of unconditional love, real life, music and eventually a strong, empowered Bella, which was the pièce de résistance for me as a Twilight fic reader—well, that and Guitarward. *be still my heart*

CSI Seattle WA ~ A chance discovery in the forest near Forks starts a series of events that could prove cataclysmic, not just for the people involved. A story of love, passion, murder, mystery and horror and rated M mainly for the passionate bits. A story of about 89,000 words that will hopefully keep you on the edge of your sofa! Updated in ‘episodes’ of 3 chapters at a time, every Saturday.
Twilight – Rated: M – English – Drama/Romance – Chapters: 22 – Words: 79,781 – Reviews: 406 – Updated: 9-28-13 – Published: 8-17-13 – Bella & Edward
This is one of those stories that made me curse everyday life for encroaching on my need to consume, right from the compelling opening, the existing 68,726 words in one sitting. Yes, it’s that good!
It starts with an intriguing prologue where an arm is discovered in the forest near Forks, then quickly moves to Forks high school ten years earlier. Bella and Edward are partners in Biology – now you might be thinking, where have I heard that before – but believe me, while there are some fun nods to canon, there is nothing familiar or clichéd about this refreshing plotline.
Bella is a lovely, young girl who takes the chance on asking her shy, geeky lab partner to accompany her to prom. OME! What an unforgettable prom night it turns out be – for both of them…
Edward looked into her eyes for a few moments as if he was trying to preserve the memory of her face, then he kissed her gently at first and then he took her bottom lip into his mouth and sucked it while Bella whimpered and moaned with pleasure. His breathing accelerated and Bella felt herself moving backwards until she was pressed up against the wall of the house. His tongue was in her mouth now and as he was devouring her he grabbed hold of the material of her dress and pulled it upwards, then he lifted her up off the floor, wrapped her legs around his body and pressed himself against her. She could feel his arousal right where she was on fire and their kisses became more passionate and frenzied as they writhed and moaned in a tight embrace. Edward’s hands were moving over Bella’s body while her hands were buried in his silky hair. Tears had started to form in her eyes as a feeling of pure ecstasy overwhelmed her. This kiss would live in her memory for the rest of her life and she didn’t want it to stop.
Edward broke the kiss and rested his head on Bella’s shoulder while he regained his composure. He was seriously aroused but was not prepared to take this any further tonight. He had never thought himself capable of this level of passion and he felt totally out of control. He knew he had to stop as it would be unfair of him to have sex with Bella tonight, which is what he wanted to do. He was leaving Forks very soon and would probably never see her ever again as his father was selling up and following him to the East Coast. He carefully put Bella back down onto her feet and wiped a tear from her cheek with his fingers.
“I’ll never forget tonight as long as I live Bella. You are a beautiful girl and a beautiful person.”
Move on ten years and DanielGaleward is all grown up. *pause while I swoon at visions of Edward in a lab coat* He is a highly respected and successful scientist, although his personal life does not match his professional one. Unfortunately for him, he has settled for content, believing blissfully happy is not something he will ever be…that is of course until a chance reunion with the beautiful, brave Bella, now a crime scene investigator. Their sweet romance and their powerful passion for each other play out against the perfectly planned backdrop of crime investigation and intrigue, with both their professional lives and their families woven finely through it.
As a reader, having the benefit of looking from the outside in and seeing the overall picture, I have a feeling I know where this story is going – and who dunnit. But, given how Michaelmas54 cleverly inserts a twist when you least expect, and how what I consider genuine clues could be red herrings, I’m not willing to bet on it. I am, however, not above bribing Michaelmas54 to post faster than her weekly schedule of three chapters every Saturday.

Hot Commodity ~ Edward Cullen is used to getting everything he wants. Good looking, wealthy, and charming, NYC’s most reputable playboy doesn’t take “no” for an answer. Then he meets Isabella Swan and all bets are off … Except for one. *AH/OOC*

Hip Hip Horray! Three cheers for blueeyedcherry who recently completed her Masters!
Whilst I’m thrilled for her -and proud of her achievements- I’m also thrilled for me because Hot Commodity is close to completion!! WoooHooo *runs around throwing confetti*
So, what’s so special about Hot Commodity? Apart from witty banter, and a snarky, intelligent and sexy Bella, there is also an extremely successful, intelligent, arrogant, womanising Edward who may just need bringing down a peg or two…
“Do you know anything about iPhones? Mine seems to be broken.” I hit her with the puppy dog eyes and a sheepish grin, holding the phone out to her. Her friend rolled her eyes and tapped her foot impatiently. I recognized her from somewhere but my scotch-induced stupor prevented me from remembering any details.
“What’s wrong with it? Not that I’d know anything about it, I haven’t progressed past the flip phone era, but I could try to fix it.” She took a gulp of champagne, probably to stop her nervous ramblings.
“Your number isn’t in it,” I said matter-of-factly. I was prepared for an eye roll, followed by a nervous smile, followed by the girl giving me her number and having several cocktails with me before going back to my place.
This girl was different. She choked on laughter and the champagne sprayed out her nose and all over the front of my Armani suit. Her brown eyes grew wide and her hand flew over her mouth in embarrassment.
“I’m so sorry! I can’t believe I did that! But really, can you blame me? Who uses pick up lines these days?”
I chuckled despite myself. Under normal circumstances I’d be furious with this bitch. This suit had cost me almost two grand. Her eyes and her smile somehow managed to extinguish my anger.
“Don’t worry beautiful, with tits like those, you don’t need to apologize for anything.” This girl was a spitfire and I probably should have known better than to speak to her that way. Her expression quickly changed from one of mild-embarrassment to one of all out rage. She handed her champagne to her friend, took two steps towards me, drew her arm back, and WHACK! – slapped me (harder than I’d ever been slapped, might I add) across the face. Then, adding insult to injury, she set my phone on the table next to me, and poured the remainder of her champagne all over it.
“That should fix your problem. Now you can’t run your disgusting mouth to any of the poor women in your phone book ever again.” She spun around and grabbed her friend’s wrist. “C’mon Alice. This asshole doesn’t deserve our company.” They disappeared into the crowd before I even had a chance to process what had happened.
Of course, they do meet again. Edward’s sidekick and partner in crime, Jasper, goads him into a ridiculous bet. A bet that, once accepted, will change their lives forever…
The humour is quick, the sex is smouldering and the relationships believable. I love and hate Edward in equal measures -actually I grew to love him pretty quickly – I rant at the screen at his behaviour and stupidity, but delight in his roguishness. I’m right behind Bella one minute and hoping to kick her ass the next! But they’re so bloody loveable whatever their flaws.
This story has it all, twists, turns and a more than a few “oh shit” moments; I find myself grinning as I read and hoping they find their gold-plated HEA. It’s a real page turner that has kept me gripped from day one.
It won’t be long now until I know their fate, blueeyedcherry is posting one more regular chapter and two epilogues…believe me, it’s been well worth the wait. ❤

There’s a Word For It ~ I hadn’t liked 17-year-old boys even when I was 17. So what is it about Edward Cullen that’s so compelling? Whatever it is, I can’t afford to find out.
I’ve been dying to share this story with you all, but it’s so unique I haven’t found a category to post it into until now. And now that I have my opportunity, I’m finding myself lost for words, despite the title!
Imagine Bella never makes it to Forks as a teenager, but a twist of fate brings her as an adult – a cool, smart, sophisticated and confident adult – to teach AP English at Forks High School. Guess who fate would place in her senior class? Seventeen-year-old Edward and Alice, that’s who. How disturbing would it be for her to find herself sickeningly enthralled by a teenage boy?
I misjudged how long I needed to get back to Building 3 from the cafeteria, and by the time I arrived in my classroom, my 15 AP students were already in their seats. Fortunately, I had left a “do now” assignment on the whiteboard, and they were quietly writing. I dropped my lunch bag into my desk drawer, grabbed my clipboard with the class roster, and turned to face my students as the bell rang.
A boy with wild reddish-brown hair and a girl with spiky dark hair were toward the back, a little off to the side of everyone else.
Holy fucking shit. I wish I had been able to prepare myself, as the Clapp had suggested, and not because the Cullens looked as if they wanted to tear my throat out. They were both stunning, the boy especially, possessors of a pale beauty that seemed alien not only to Forks, but to the entire planet, cool and composed as the rest of us wilted in the heat. The girl beamed at me, light hazel eyes sparkling, while the boy stared at me as if I were some unidentifiable species of insect. I flushed hot under his scrutiny, and realized that I was staring too, and in a most improper-for-a-teacher way. I walked to the windows and cranked one open, welcoming the breeze on my cheeks.
I turned back around, and avoiding the gazes of the distracting Cullens, welcomed my new students and said, “I know it’s the rule here to use honorifics and last names, but I’d like to know what first names you prefer, so tell me as I do the roll call.” I looked down at my roster. “Alvarez?”
“Gracie,” came the answer from a brunette with Abercrombie emblazoned on her faded T-shirt and an accent in her voice. Mexican, I guessed, born Graciela.
“Brett.” Principal Bob’s son had Fitch on his shirt.
“Tiffany.” Victoria’s Secret. Well.
“Alice,” a beautiful soprano announced, and I finally looked in the Cullens’ direction again. Jesus. The only logos on this girl’s clothes were discreetly stitched onto the lining, and probably said something like Gucci. Or Chanel, if the bouclé jacket she was wearing was the real thing.
Not that it mattered. The important thing was the Alice was no longer beaming, but grim-faced. And Edward looked as if he was about to throw up, his head down, his hand over his mouth and nose.
“And this is Edward,” she added, indicating the boy in the desk next to her with a graceful wave. “His throat hurts a little today, so it’s best if he doesn’t talk.”
“Oh, that’s too bad,” I said, though I didn’t believe her. The boy looked as if he was in utter agony, not just as if had a sore throat. I thought of suggesting that he go see the nurse, but reconsidered. He was a senior who could decide for himself.
I returned to calling the roll, which ended with Teague, Eliza (Hollister). I went on to collect the summer homework and hand out books – both times, Alice Cullen glided up to the front of the room to drop off her and her brother’s summer homework essays, and to collect their copies of “Four Greek Plays” – and start the introduction to “Oedipus Rex,” the first work we’d be tackling.
As I conducted the business of the day, I kept surreptitiously glancing at Edward Cullen, without intending to. His head was still bowed, but his hand was now gripping the edge of his desk. Even from my position at the front of the room, I could see the muscles and tendons tensed in the forearm extending from the pushed-up sleeves of his white button-down shirt. Periodically, his sister put her hand on his shoulder – in reassurance? In warning? I couldn’t tell.
All the while, the other students seemed unaware of the bizarre tableau being acted out behind them. They never looked at the Cullens, never talked to them or interacted with them in any way. It was as if they were invisible to everyone but me.
I glanced up at the wall clock – the period was about to end. As my eyes flickered down, they met a pair of black ones. Edward Cullen was staring at me now with an undisguised, burning hostility.
Then the bell rang, I blinked, and the next second both Cullens were gone. What the fuck?
That was a long excerpt, but I wanted you to read first hand how a. damned fabulous Bella is in this fic; and b. how awesomely sexy Eiluned Price is as an author. Or is it just me who gets excited by incredibly intelligent authors who can draw you into their world as seamlessly as a – er – as a – seamless pair of panties? Oh look, I’m not at my best here – just go read the story, will you? A little bird tells me it’s about to update to chapter 9.
