Evenin’, ladies!
Ever been haunted by a banner for a story/author you’ve never heard of?
Musta been 3 or 4 years ago, I was pokin’ around Betti Gefecht’s profile page while I waited on an update of Little Green and EasyBella…been a year since the last one *sigh!*
Well, I followed a link to her banner blog http://banners-by-betti.blogspot.nl/ where I got lost in all the glorious art she’s made for our fandom, many for fics that were new to me, includin’ Saritadreaming’s I Want It Painted Black!
The animation…that’s what caught my attention! How cool was this angelic Edward protectin’ Bella with his wing? Immediately checking out the link Betti provided to get to the story, I saw it was a WIP! Ratz! So, I clicked author alert and crossed my fingers!
Finally, June 4th of this year, it was marked complete *squeee!*

Bella has lost everyone and everything she has ever loved, buryin’ her pain under vast quantities of drugs, alchohol, nicotine, meaningless sex and self-harm!

YESSSS…
I could feel some relief as the blood trickled down my side. My breathing slowed, and as the pain reached a bearable level, I was able to crawl up the stairs to my room. I opened my dresser drawer, pulling on it so hard the whole thing fell to the floor, spilling out socks and underwear. I grabbed the cigar box with my stash inside, hugging it to my chest.
Opening the box, I wondered what would dull the pain tonight. I rifled through the little pills, the baggie of weed…and then my hand closed around it – the vial of white powder. No! Had to save that for a really bad time. Decided, I rolled a joint and grabbed some vodka – taking a swig straight from the bottle. I sat on the floor with my back against the wall, smoking and drinking, until the pain was dampened to a dull roar. I needed to get it together. Tomorrow I started school at Forks High. Ugh.
Her path of self-destruction can only be stopped by someone who can let her be herself, be there for her when she hurts and love her for the woman she can be! Not that she makes it easy on him!
“Edward, I’m broken—empty. I have nothing to offer you. I wish I did; I wish I could. I know I’ve hurt you, and I’m so sorry. Just walk away and forget me.”
“I can’t walk away—I won’t walk away.” He pulled me closer against him, burying his face in my neck. I could barely breathe, but I hardly noticed. “I only ask for one promise from you…don’t cut me off completely. I know you don’t feel what I
feel, but please don’t shut me out.”
“Edward, I won’t keep you out. But you have to understand the rules. I do what I want, when I want. I’m not looking to be in a relationship—you understand that, right?”
“Yes.”
“You’re suddenly okay with my lifestyle?”
“No, but I’m less okay with having you completely out of my life. Like I said…let me worry about the details.”
And this is just the tip of the iceberg! Izzy has accumulated a lot of men along the way…some are good friends, some are fuck buddies, others are scorned lovers and one is her Dom. Oh, did I forget there’s one who wants to kill her?
Poor Edward! That’s a lot of baggage to sort through to get to the real woman who’s supposed to be his mate! 
I Want It Painted Black is a deliciously long, complex fic with so many layers you might feel intimidated at times but the author guides us flawlessly through each step to a heartstoppin’ conclusion that will take your breath away!
I can’t praise this one enough, especially for my fellow AngstH00rs…you know who you are!!!

Ooh, I do like saritadreaming’s stories – I’m reading two of her WIPs at the moment, The Masks We Wear and A Measure of Grace, and AMoG in particular is excellent. It’s a post-apocalyptic story, and I’m a sucker for those. Going to save this one to my list, so thanks for the rec, Rita – although I need more to read like a hole in the head, especially as I really should be writing, not bloody reading!
After my experience with I Want It Painted Black, I’m anxious to dive into more of her stories, Fluffy darlin’! Thanks to your rec of A Measure of Grace {and because Drotuno has broken me in on apoclyptic stories with Rain Must Fall}, I think I’ll check out AMoG!
As for readin’ instead of writin’, ain’t no harm in keepin’ your bwainz active while you wait for your muse to bite you in the ass LOL!
Here’s hopin’ that happens sooner rather than later ’cause I miss your wit, Missy Ma’am!

I’ve had great fun gettin’ to know them and vice versa. It’s how RobsFan~tasy and Clairebamboozle roped me into editin’ their stories for them, which I love love love because I get to know what’s goin’ on before anyone else…neener, neener, neener LOL!

I’ve got IWiPB already on my list. It does look like quite a read. Per your mention last week, I’m currently reading Ivory and Ruthless. I’m just about a quarter of the way in and trying to piece the mystery together. Thank you for rec’ing, I’m enjoying it so far.

This week I take a trip down memory line, two years ago I came across Twilight books, read them and re read them . Then I read that there is also EPOV of book… but sadly just 12 chapters.. so thanks to google I find all 4 books in EPOV…
Here at “Twilight: The Missing Pieces,” you will find a new version of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight Saga as seen through Edward’s eyes.
Her writing is excellent and all the books are in PDF so you can DL them for e-reader

Oh zveka what have you done?! I checked out PAL’s website and I can already tell that I am going to be lost days upon days down her rabbit hole of Edward’s saga. Thank you for the rec. Now I have to figure out how to squeeze in RL around all this great reading between you rec and Rita’s. Happy problems.

Yes it is and this particular banner has had me hypnotized for years LOL! I have zero photoshop skills but if I rec a fic without a banner, I will at least try to find a pretty picture to highlight the title /author text…I do know how to do that much LOL!

Thanks for the heads-up that IWIPB completed – the idea of that one has intrigued me from the beginning, but now that it’s done, time to dive in!
And oh my gosh someone wrote a complete Midnight Sun, for the whole saga? Have to check that out.
Among the other dozen fics I have open on my computer/iPad, here’s an old school one I hadn’t heard much about, except for a long-ago mention by Raum. The story picks up from the night E&B return from Volterra in NM. This Bella has some backbone and intelligence. A little more Jacob than I like, but I can’t wait to see where she takes it. It amazes me when someone can capture my attention with a variation on a story I already know – that’s good writing! It’s very well imagined and criminally under-reviewed.

As for The Art of Losing, my TBR shows it marked as read. However, I only gave it one star and didn’t pdf it. Made a run through the comments and I hadn’t left any. All I can think is that I wasn’t in the right frame of mind for it at the time! Goin’ by all the praise left by everyone else, it probably wouldn’t hurt to try again!?!
Interesting … I read it once quite a while ago and only marked it with two stars myself, but because I also put it on my “go back and review this” list, I picked it up again to do that. And this time I’m entranced! Go figure. It’s less than 45K words, so if you want to take another run at it, it’s a quick one.
Yeah, I saw it was only 14 chapters and I think you’re right! I’ll have another look soon!

I knew Sarita’s name from the Free Writers and Readers site, but I haven’t read any of her stories yet *hangs head in shame* I’ve snagged a copy of IWiPB for my e reader to put that right. Besides, you know I’m kinda drawn to angel imagery, so the banner was enough to hook me in 😀

Hey, ClaireBear! Nice quiet weekend…lots of readin’, of course LOL! I was just gonna start readin’ Love and a Big Green Bag by Red Koolaid when I saw she’d pulled both her fics *poutyface!*
Summary: Bella is an executive on her way home from an overseas business trip. Edward is a popular actor on his way to meet a director about his next movie. When the two of them are literally thrown together, their lives change forever, and they realize that what they had before is not what’s in store for the future. Love, loss and lotsa lemons!
See, this is why I pdf complete stories as soon as I find them and now I was lucky enough to have this one available anyway!
Only a few chapters left and it’s quite a good read…such a sweet Edward *swoon!*
