So, there I was quietly decompressin’ from finishin’ Drotuno’s Gravity Series when my inbox suddenly exploded with new stories…most of which were one shots!

These were my favorites of the ones I’ve read so far!

At sixteen, Edward is a year younger than Bella in this fic…younger but very much wiser!

Edward stood up and looked around the circle, expecting someone to stop him from following Bella into the laundry closet. He knew that there was nothing in there. Just some shelves with towels and laundry soap. And, of course, now there was a girl; a pretty girl waiting for her seven minutes of heaven. Whatever the heck that was.

“Timers on,” Mike yelled from the outside of the door.

Edward stepped back as he felt Bella come closer. “Uh, what exactly are we supposed to be doing?” he asked awkwardly.

He heard her move, but it wasn’t until he felt her tugging on his pants that he realized what she was doing.

“Stop that,” he hissed.

“Five minutes,” Mike shouted through the door.

“Don’t worry. I can finish you in three,” she said.

“I said stop,” he repeated, feeling a bit confused and perhaps violated.

“What’s your problem?” she hissed back, her laidback tone suddenly gone.

“Why would you. . . do that? You don’t know me?”

“It’s the name of the game, Edward.”

Edward didn’t need to know Bella to know what he said next was the truth. “You’re better than that.”

“How would you know? You don’t even know me.” Bella snapped back.

“I just do. You deserve more,” he replied.

She laughed but there was no humor in her tone. She didn’t believe him. Edward could tell that whoever she was or whatever she’d been through, someone had convinced her she was no better than giving head to her friend’s brother at a party.

“Please stand up.”

He could hear her sigh as she made her way off the floor. He tugged his pants back up and buttoned them.

“One minute,” Mike shouted through the door.

“Well then, what do I deserve, Edward?”

Edward didn’t know what came over him. He had kissed one girl before, and was by no means an expert, but he couldn’t help himself as he leaned into her and pressed his lips to hers. His kiss was delicate and respectful but filled with just enough desire that she’d feel desired.

When he pulled back, there was complete silence for three seconds until Mike opened the door and declared obnoxiously, “Time’s up.”

Light filled the small room and he looked back to see Bella standing there staring at him. Her hand was up by her face, her fingers touching her lips. She was slightly flushed and Edward wondered how he’d missed just how beautiful she was. He gave her a small shy smile, and as soon as she saw it, she dropped her hand.

“Whatever,” she hissed as she stormed out of the closet. She grabbed a coat off the couch and bolted up the stairs.

Edward is relentless in his pursuit of Bella until she falls hard for him. Unfortunately, family circumstances tear him away and it’s years later before she sees him again!

Gone was the unsure boy and in his place stood a very confident man. He owned the stage and his appeal, winking at the girls in the front row as he sang. His hair was still the same messy mop of copper it had always been but the rest of him had gone through a major transformation. His arms, toned and strong, supported several tattoos, although Bella couldn’t really tell what of from her seat, and his chest, hidden by a tight black t-shirt with a low dipping V, was just as taught. His face was more mature and angular, a strong chin and defined cheekbones. His eyes held knowledge that Bella could only guess where it came from.

How can Bella reconcile this Edward with the sweet boy she knew back in Forks? Just how much has he changed?

Okay, only two chapters up so far but I’ve already got my seat belt tightened as far as it will  go!

Your life is not ever your own, not truly. It’s the living that suffer when you die, when you’re finally free of the binds you can’t break in life. As long as your heart beats in your chest you have obligations to others, never having the chance to be your own self. It was a harsh lesson I’d been forced to learn at the tender age of seventeen, before I was mature enough to have that knowledge forced upon me. Renée had done what she could to protect me, going so far as to leave my father and flee with me, but in the end it turned out it was all for nothing.

Not one person that I can see down there loved her, or cared for her, not in so many years. I was the only person she could count on, but that hadn’t been enough. If I had known that declining an offer of marriage would result in her death, I would have accepted, regardless of who was offering. I would have done anything for her, including giving up my very freedom. If only I’d known the truth in time to save my mother’s life.

The author promises a HEA but it’s gonna be a bumpy road to get there…I’m takin’ her at her word!

Ooooh, ladies! I have saved the best for last *wicked evil grin!* And don’t be fooled by the banner…this is not a Bella/Aro love story!

As far as Bella knows, Aro is the great-uncle she’s been corresponding with for years…she has no idea he’s a vampire but vampires are certainly in her immediate future!

Bella looks up, startled, and meets eyes that are pitch-black eyes that are so dilated that they are all pupil with a very, very faint ring of burnished gold around the edge of the iris. The eyes are set into a breathtakingly lovely face of angular bones beneath taut pale skin, heavy brows, and a full-mouth pulled back to reveal an upper row of slick white teeth. She pulls her focus back, taking in the tall, lanky form currently doing his best to bruise her with his long fingers digging into her flesh. Bronze hair. The frustrated one. The beautiful one.

Or he might have been if he didn’t look like he legitimately wanted to murder her at the moment.

Edward growls again, moving faster than a flash to curl his hand around Bella’s throat and physically lift her from the ground by several inches. She scrambles, heels banging against the lockers, breath coming in panic-fueled gasps as Edward snarls, “Mine!”

Bella cringes, hands coming up to pull at his immobile fingers in the futile hope of loosening his steely grip –

All it takes is a touch.

. . . .Kill, drink, killkillkill. . . So sweet, that blood, I must taste it. . . .It’s mine. . . .Killdrinktastebitebitebite. . . she’s mine. . . .

Edward’s mind is chaos, a cornucopia of noise and scent and emotions strong enough to still the beat of her heart – and his thoughts are black, both with intent and with self-loathing even as he contemplates what her blood might taste like, and how much he could drink before anyone could stop him, and what it would feel like to be wrapped up in all that human-like warmth, inside and outside and-

Bella has never felt a mind like that before, so dynamic and complex and absolutely twisted around itself. In that split-second of contact, she feels like her nerves are set alight, like her brain simply can’t process so much at once. Warmth drips down from her nose a moment after she begins clawing at Edward’s hands and his intent to harm her intensifies – but so too does her resolve to survive.

And Bella does something that she has never done before.

She presses her hands against the one at her throat, digging her nails into diamond-hard skin even as he darts forward – in for the kill – and she pushes her mind forward like a wrecking ball.

She thinks only one thing: NO.

Instantly, Edward releases her, clutching at his head with a cry of pain. Bella crumples on the floor, gasping and grasping at her over-warm throat, watching as Rosalie Hale and Emmett Cullen flash toward a still-cringing Edward almost faster than they eye can see, hooking arms around Edward’s lean body and literally dragging him away, blurring with their speed. She blinks at the place where Edward was for a long moment before turning wide eyes to Alice Cullen and Jasper Hale.

They stare at each other – silent.

Even in a situation like this, though, Bella’s mind is lightning quick. Her conclusion is unerring because there is only one logical explanation, especially with all the emphasis on blood over the last few moments. Jasper couldn’t stay because she was bleeding. Edward wanted to drink her blood. Amber eyes. Pale skin. Strength. Speed. 

Preternatural beauty, if that even counted at this point.

“Vampire,” she breathes, wiping at the blood from her nose. Her head aches something fierce, spitting and hissing like an overloaded power outlet.

Needless to say, I DROP EVERYTHING when this story updates!
