In high school, Edward was the bad boy Bella pined for, but he never noticed her. While she was away at college, he was behind bars. Their paths cross again when she arrives home and he sees how she’s changed. Can she handle the truth about him—that he’s after the blood of the man who killed his father—and will she stay by his side with danger around every corner?

Rated: Fiction M – English – Romance/Crime – Bella, Edward – Chapters: 9 – Words: 13,100 – Reviews: 517 – Favs: 332 – Follows: 635 – Updated: Sep 24 – Published: Jul 30 – id: 13350779

As far as physical attraction went, Edward was the flame and I was the moth drawn to him. He had a filthy mouth and I knew he loved to watch me react when he spoke. But I never felt threatened by him. Not like I had by that asshole in the parking lot earlier.

“Are you done with them, those guys that you were with earlier?”

“Is it going to stand between us if I’m not?”

“Yeah, it just might.”

He leaned his head back against my couch, staring up at the ceiling. “I’m as done with them as I can be, baby.”

“I’m not your baby, and what does that even mean?”

He lifted his head to stare at me. “Ah, so it’s okay to call you mami, but baby is crossing a line?”

I’d never hated how I was prone to blushing as much as I did right then. It was as good of a tell as any.

A grin spread across his lips. “You like it, yeah? You gonna call me papi while you’re laid up under me with my cock in that chocha?”

My eyes widened and I gasped loudly. My fingers twitched, ready to slap him.

“Do it, mami,” he taunted. “I like it when you’re rough with me,” he growled in my ear.

I felt the sting on my palm before it even registered that I’d actually slapped him. He groaned.

“Holy shit, Edward, I—”

“Don’t even think about apologizing.” He rubbed his jaw where I’d slapped him. “I pushed you. I deserved it; fuck, I asked you to. I wanted you to do it. I can’t control my tongue around you. I’m sorry.”

“I like the way you talk to me,” I whispered, feeling my face flush further. I liked his dirty mouth, and I liked our heated back and forth.

He pulled me onto his lap so I straddled him. I could feel every hard inch of him and had to hold back a moan.

“You gonna be my girl, then?”

“We hardly know each other. Plus, you still didn’t answer my question. Are you done with those guys?” I looked straight into his eyes as I waited for his answer.

“Look, I’ve got no plans to hang out with them on a daily basis, but I’m not done with them. Or, should I say, they’re not done with me.”

“What do you mean?”

For a quick moment, I would have sworn I saw worry flash in his eyes. “Royce King is looking for me.”

FYI, Edward’s mother is Columbian while his father was 100% Irish, a deadly beautiful combination of genes!

This is how MissLiss15 sees her Edward in this story and we, in her Facebook group, swooned to the floor when she posted it:

ROB ATTACKhttps://www.fanfiction.net/s/13339120/1/Hades-a-love-story-Sort-of

A story of perseverance & the lack thereof. For the downtrodden. About love & loss along with the betrayal & bitterness that ensues in its aftermath. Long story short, a story about Hades & how maybe he’s not the bad guy, after all. 1/4 c Lucifer. 2 tbsp Meet Joe Black. 1 heaping swig of Twilight. misc nonsense. Liberties with Greek mythology. MA, ExB AH (sort of) blah blah blah

Rated: Fiction M – English – Romance/Humor – Chapters: 10 – Words: 16,791 – Reviews: 284 – Favs: 137 – Follows: 277 – Updated: Sep 20 – Published: Jul 16 – id: 13339120

For those of you who have long mourned the disappearance of Jo, FictionFreak95 from our fandom, I have the most wonderful news…she’s baaack!

My first breath of freedom is delicious. Just as I imagined it might be. I feel more alive than I have in a millennia. Leaving the underworld has been on my deceitful mind forever and a day. For the past thousand years or so, actually committing the action has proven to be more difficult than it sounds. It’s a bit akin to what humans might view as a caged bird. They aren’t exactly happy with their circumstances but given the chance to fly, they rarely take flight.

Tonight, I flew.

And once I made the painstaking decision to indeed leave, everything else seemed quite easy.

Arranging for a replacement, check.

Walking past the idiotic rivermen to exit my domain unaccounted for, Check.

Deciding what I want to do first and foremost, pretty much check.

***

Ah, yes…about that replacement:

Before he can question what I mean, with an indiscreet snap of my fingers, he’s gone.

Don’t worry. He’s not dead.

Not really, anyway. That would be cheating. I don’t cheat.

He’s just… somewhere in between. Indefinitely.

In his abrupt departure, by design, the keys to his car have fallen to the ground, and I happily pick them up. I push a button to unlock the sleek, black 2-door BMW 428i then slide into the driver’s seat, taking a moment to fully appreciate the comfort of this man’s taste.

“Nice.”

I look around a bit then pull open the middle compartment to find his wallet. I open it up to see whose persona I will be taking for a while.

I read the name with disdain.

“Edward Cullen.”

Then I shrug, it’s as good a name as any, I suppose. I slip the wallet into my pocket and lock his car up again before heading into the bar I apparently own to see what sort of fun

awaits me.

“Nice to meet you, Edward,” I say to the night air. “I’m Hades.”

You might not remember Jo but you surely remember such titles as: Edward Cullen, Dick for Hire and its sequel, The Dick in Me, Meet the Masens, Penal Code and many, many more!

ROB ATTACKhttps://www.fanfiction.net/s/13186521/1/The-Boy-in-the-Backyard

When Bella’s 6-year-old daughter stumbles upon Peter, a young, dirty, and stain-filled boy in her backyard playhouse, she’s determined to help him. Meanwhile, Bella notices something odd about the new doctor at her work. As Peter’s story unwinds, his fate is ultimately left to the family that took him in, but Bella has no intention of giving up the boy in her backyard. AH/AU BxE

I’m readin’ this and realizin’ kids are the most sneaky, deceitful little creatures on Earth, even when they mean well LOL!

The Swan’s yard was big. Wild flowers surrounded the outlines of the property, adding color next to the tall, mossy evergreens that drew around the start of the forest. In the center of the yard sat a small yellow play house. Of course, it had a small, flowery welcome front and a window on the west side. Consisting of three small rooms: a kitchen, a living room, and a spare, the play house was Charlotte’s safe haven when her mother was not around.

Her dolls and toys were already nestled into the small house, now along with the Rapunzel book she’d stolen off of the bookshelf. In the kitchen, she set down a plastic tea pot filled to the brim with whatever type of tea her mother had prepped for her the night before. Tea parties were a daily thing in the Swan household.

Today, two guests, would make an appearance at Charlotte Swan’s ultimate tea party. Lining up a crazy redhaired doll with a sewed on smile and a stuffed lion, she started to pour the cups of tea. However, redhair’s glass was only halfway full when the small cup was dropped, covering the plastic floor in a slew of spilt tea (juice).

Charlotte couldn’t help it. She wasn’t expecting a third guest, especially not the dirty looking boy that was sitting in a chair on the opposing side of the room. This boy looked small, yet couldn’t be bigger than her cousin Jake, who was six years older. His light blonde hair highlighted with muck, stood out in many different directions around his pale face. His jeans were torn at the hemline and his shirtsleeves non-existent. Her doe eyes met his large green ones and they stared at each other for a while.

Charlotte scoffed, bending over to pick up plastic cup. She looked up at the boy expectedly.

“Well, are you going to just sit there or are you going to join me for my tea party?”

So far, Charlotte’s been able to hide Peter from Bella but surely not for much longer *nail bite!*

He may be dating my step-sister, but it doesn’t stop me from wishing he were mine.

Rated: Fiction M – English – Romance – Bella, Edward – Chapters: 13 – Words: 41,311 – Reviews: 1,684 – Favs: 614 – Follows: 963 – Updated: Sep 23 – Published: Jun 24 – id: 13319962

Dedicated to anyone who ever coveted their sister’s boyfriend LOL!

The hot California sun kisses my bare legs as they hang out the window of Jacob’s car, a beat up ’67 Charger that he loves more than me, a fact we’re both aware of. We’re driving to Frosty Freeze, our daily trip for ice cream in a summer that feels like it’s screeching towards its end even though it’s just begun. I’m already late for work, but I don’t care all that much, which is basically how I feel about most things.

I push the hair flying around my face out of the way, just in time to see him in the parking lot at Zuma beach.

Edward Cullen.

His golden shoulders glisten with salty ocean water, his old denim cutoffs lay unbuttoned and hanging dangerously low around his hips. A white t-shirt sticks out of his back pocket, waiting to be put back on.

With his right hand he slings the yellow and blue surfboard easily under his arm, and with the left, he pulls Rosalie Hale’s bikini clad body into his own.

I lick my lips and squeeze my thighs together, knowing that in just a few short hours, he’ll be sitting across from me at dinner, eating whatever Renee makes from the helpful housewife advertisements she sees during The Carol Burnett Show.

He may be dating my step-sister, but it doesn’t stop me from wishing he were mine.

PB takes us back to the late 70’s in her newest story and it’s an amazin’ trip for those of us old enough to remember the carefree days…or were they, between childhood and the real world!

When only the first chapter has been posted and you’re already nailed to your chair!

Gathering all the courage he could, Tyler turned to face his unwanted spectators, determined to make the best of this horrifying situation. All the breath left his lungs as his gaze fell upon the three impossibly gorgeous women before him. They appeared to be his age, lean and fit but still shapely, with pale skin so smooth it looked like silk. Their faces were stunningly beautiful, but it was their eyes—eerily menacing and a color he didn’t even know existed—that truly had him captivated. He couldn’t stop from gawking blatantly.

The one in the middle, a long-haired brunette, cocked her head to the side as she stared at him, a sly smile curving onto her deep red lips. “I’m sorry. We didn’t mean to interrupt,” she said teasingly. Her voice danced and shimmered almost inhumanly, ringing around him like a choir of bells. “Please. Don’t let us stop you from… finishing.”

Tyler just stared at her dumbly.

“Ooh, maybe he needs some help,” the girl on the brunette’s right, a stunning blonde, suggested with an excited glint in her already bright eyes. “I call dibs!”

The final of the three, her hair a wild mess of fiery red curls, giggled in a high-pitched, girlish lilt. Tyler recognized it as the second laugh he’d heard when they first approached. It gave him the chills; there was something deeply more menacing about it than the other girl’s. “Don’t be greedy, now. He’s cute. We can share…”

A tickle crawled up Tyler’s back, though he wasn’t quite sure if it was from fright or desire. These two hotter-than the-sun chicks wanted to… to…help him? Help him get off? No. No, surely he must have misunderstood.

“Awww,” the blonde girl whined. “They’ve only got one really good scream in them, though. I never get it all to myself.” Her full pink lips turned down in a pout while her eyes remained on him hungrily.

Hungrily. The word echoed through Tyler’s head as realization dawned on him. That was exactly how he would describe the look they all wore: hungry… insatiably hungry. But for what?

The redhead sighed dramatically, waving her hand dismissively at him. “Fiiiiine… he’s all yours. Just don’t get too carried away. You already pigged out back at the house. Hardly left anything for the rest of us.”

Tyler gaped at her in confusion. He still hadn’t said a word. They were taking so cryptically; he had no idea what was going on.

Well, we might have an idea what’s goin’ on, right? But who are these three deadly sirens? Are they who we think they are?

When Bella’s hallucinations of Edward became her only source of comfort, she had to find new and creative ways to trigger them. Now, Edward is back and determined to earn her trust… and her submission. Rating: M, New Moon AU, Canon vamps and pairings, BDSM themes, HEA, No Cheating. Regular updates until Completed!

Ladies, you won’t find this last story on FFN but I’m sharin’ it here, nonetheless! Also because Bev would kick my butt if I didn’t…she’s already deep into it LOL!

My wrists were cuffed to a metal support frame over my head, and I registered the cool numbness in my fingertips with some long-detached part of my brain. The part that took note of any physical sensation other than the pain to which I subjected myself. I gasped as the polished birch made contact with my ass again, leaving stripes of fire across the tender skin there. My breaths came with increasing speed, processing every delicious second of pain as I waited for the next blow.

I could feel his eyes on me, gauging my tolerance and stamina, studying my reactions down to the most minute movements of my body. Malcolm had learned quickly that while I understood the purpose of a safe word, I would never use it. I needed this too much. I craved it the way a normal person craved food, water, oxygen… Every nerve in my body quivered with anticipation as I took another strike, and the edges of my vision began to shimmer.

I was almost there.

It didn’t use to take this long. At one point, I could reach my goal with just a few good lashes of a belt, a few swats of a heavy paddle. These days, it was harder… but worth it. I was so close I could almost taste it now. My pain level surged as the cane whipped against the backs of my thighs, just under my buttocks where the skin was the most sensitive.

And there he was.

Not the muscled, dark-skinned man behind me but the man I’d truly come to see. He looked as perfect as he always did, with his pale gleaming skin, his tousled bronze hair, those warm golden eyes, and that smile. The smile that was so exquisitely beautiful it erased my physical pain completely.

My entire body was enveloped by a blissful numbness, granting me a reprieve even from the ever-present ache in my hollow chest. I couldn’t feel the tears I knew were streaming down my cheeks, and the strikes of the cane couldn’t penetrate the shield of my hallucination. I vaguely registered the pressure of each blow and the sound of the of the thin rod connecting with my inflamed skin. But every strike only made his smile brighter and his voice sweeter as he hummed my lullaby and murmured words of love.

I didn’t dare pull my eyes away from the bronze-haired boy, even when the caning stopped. My fastidious Dominant began to treat the welts with a cool, damp cloth, crooning nonsense into my ear. But he couldn’t reach me. I couldn’t have cared less what he was saying, and by that point, it didn’t matter. He may as well have been invisible or not in the room at all.

He thought I was in subspace, and maybe I was. Maybe this was what subspace felt like for me. But he wasn’t the one who’d brought me there… not really. He was just another instrument, a tool as effective as the cane he’d wielded. He could’ve been anyone, any gender, any race… Right then, in that moment, I wasn’t submitting to him.

ROB ATTACKhttps://www.fanfiction.net/s/13305692/1/Beneath-the-Branches

“The town of Forks is typically synonymous with boredom, not serial killers.”

Rated: Fiction M – English – Mystery/Romance – Bella, Edward – Chapters: 6 – Words: 18,928 – Reviews: 695 – Favs: 355 – Follows: 664 – Updated: 8h ago – Published: Jun 7 – id: 13305692

When Charlie is confronted with a string of bizarre murders he is ill equipped to handle, the FBI sends Special Agent Edward Cullen to help!

Forks Police Department

“Can I help you, son?” a Barney Fife type drawls from the front desk with an ‘I hate Mondays’ coffee cup in hand.

“Uh, yeah. I’m here to see a Chief Swan.” I open my jacket to show my identification. “Special Agent Edward Cullen.”

“You’re a Fed?”

“I’m a Major Case Specialist with the FBI Behavioral Analysis Unit. I’ve been sent here at the request of my superiors and the Forks Police Chief to assist on an investigation.”

He tips his chair back on two legs, grinning. “Is that right?”

“Agent Cullen,” a sharp female voice sounds from a nearby office and the officer approaches with her hand extended, “Leah Clearwater.”

“Nice to meet you.”

Her grip is as firm as the set of her jaw. Poised and serious, she motions for me to follow her all the while scowling at the front desk clerk who makes a point of busying himself with some files. “How was your flight out?”

“Long, but uneventful, thankfully.”

“I’m surprised they didn’t send some of the agents from Seattle over to help.”

“They’re working some big trafficking case.”

“Ahh.”

“And besides, cases like these are sort-of my thing.”

“Your thing is brutal murderers?” she asks, opening the door to a conference room lined wall-to-wall with photos of the crime scenes.

My eyes scan the images of the victims, bloodied, battered, and bound among the trees with a purple flowered meadow in the distance.

“Evidently.”

A gentleman stands as I enter even though he looks dead on his feet. Dark hair, tired eyes, and a full-on Magnum PI ’stache. This must be the Andy Griffith to the Barney up front.

“Chief Swan,” I shake his hand, “Special Agent Edward Cullen.”

“Thanks for coming.” Clearing his throat, he turns back to the photographs. “Are you up to speed on everything?”

“I’ve gone through all the info you’ve sent over, but if you don’t mind, I’d like to do a thorough run-through with you.”

I’ll spare you the gory run-through *shudder!* However, even with the presence of the FBI in Forks, the killer racks up more kills, much to the frustration of Charlie and Edward!

ROB ATTACKhttps://www.fanfiction.net/s/13323508/1/To-the-Light

A love story told simply between a broken woman and an extraordinary man who helps her see the beauty in herself again.

Rated: Fiction M – English – Romance/Hurt/Comfort – Bella, Edward – Chapters: 9 – Words: 11,657 – Reviews: 310 – Favs: 123 – Follows: 196 – Updated: 15h ago – Published: Jun 28 – id: 13323508

This author took down all the fics on her profile back in September of 2017 and I truly thought we’d seen the last of her. Well, I’m pleased to announce she’s baaack!

His scuffed boots are two people ahead of me and I curiously watch those boots as they step to the side. The passengers in front of me get on the bus and when I step up next, my eyes meet his once more. Still smiling, he nods at me and my lips curve before I quickly scamper up the steps. There are no seats available so I mumble, “Excuse me, excuse me,” and make my way towards the back. I squeeze my small body in between two people and hang onto the closest available pole.

I try to not look towards the front, but every now and then, I get a glimpse of his funny hat. The bus starts to thin out as it makes its stops and I find a seat. He continues to stand near the front and I stare intently out the window, purposely avoiding him. His stop arrives and it feels safe so I look up and watch the back of his gray wool coat as he moves towards the exit. He pauses and turns his head, his eyes finding mine. He smiles, a softer smile this time, before he nods and departs the bus. I stare at my fidgeting hands and the bus roars to life but I don’t dare look out the window again.

I’m the last stop and winter’s darkness has fallen. A blast of icy wind hits me head-on, causing me to stumble a bit. Wrapping my scarf around my face, I shove my gloved hands in my pockets and push my slight body against the wind. I have to fight it and even though I only have one block to walk, I’m exhausted by the time I get home.

Once inside the warmth of my apartment, I grin when Oliver greets me, meowing and rubbing his furry body between my legs. After quickly removing my gloves, I lean down and scratch his calico ears, so thankful for his companionship. I toss my hat and scarf on the table by the door and hang up my coat before I head to the kitchen to open him a can of cat food.

I heat myself up some soup and eat quietly while I think about the man in the funny hat. I think about his smiles, all twelve of them, or is it thirteen now? I don’t know how to count the ones outside the bus but I try to find meaning behind all of them, to quantify them somehow, but do smiles even have meaning? Of course, they have meaning. They’re a form of communication, albeit a silent form. His all seemed cordial, like a greeting perhaps. Like a thoughtful person showing kindness to a stranger so I come to the conclusion that the man in the funny hat is simply a nice person with a nice smile trying to brighten someone’s day. And he did brighten mine.

I spend the rest of the evening in my comfy chair wrapped in a blanket, reading a book with Oliver purring beside me. I have to read one passage three times because I lack focus. I am distracted by warm smiles and funny hats.

The nightmares stay away for once and I dream of a tall man with a gentle smile, standing at the bus stop. . .

Wearing a funny hat.

Aw, hell *sniff!* I just wanna hug them both to pieces!

ROB ATTACKhttps://www.fanfiction.net/s/13323759/1/A-Dirty-Lion

Edward Cullen is sent to Forks to form a new charter of The Dirty Lions Motorcycle Club. His mission: keep the Werewolves out of Lion territory. Little does he know that putting a stop to the sale of underage girls in their own back yard will bring him more problems than solutions. Hell hath no fury like a woman who needs money for college.

Rated: Fiction M – English – Romance/Crime – Bella, Edward – Chapters: 4 – Words: 12,442 – Reviews: 194 – Favs: 155 – Follows: 279 – Updated: 15h ago – Published: Jun 29 – id: 13323759

Yeah, I’m sure most of you are already hooked on Lionward but for those of you livin’ under a rock…

I trace my finger through an engraved curve on the large wooden table in our meeting room as the other two fucks argue back and forth over what to do about The Raging Werewolves. The roaring lion with his flowing mane is our club emblem, and I felt honored that Carl gifted me this table when he sent me to Forks to be President of The Dirty Lions’ new charter. My mission is simple: clean up the wolf scum that’s trying to nudge their way into Lion territory.

The gang take out a number of said wolf scum durin’ a raid to rescue young girls about to be sold at auction. However, Edward discovers one girl is there willingly for the express purpose of auctionin’ off her virginity for college money…say what?

I follow the hallway to a bathroom, and I enter with my Glock at the ready. The girl I run into is alone, and she’s a little older than the others I’ve seen.

“Who are you?” she asks, looking at me through the mirror as she neatens up her bright red lips.

“I’m here to help.” I take a tentative step, afraid I might scare her. Tattoos and piercings and leather and steel can be a frightening combo.

“I didn’t ask for help.” She props her hip against the counter and turns. “In fact, you’re holding me up.”

She tries to walk past me, but I grab her arm. “There’s nothing to hold you up from. This auction is canceled.”

“No!” Her eyes widen as she tries to jerk away. “Let go of me!”

“Little girls aren’t mature enough to make these kinds of decisions for themselves,” I grit, getting pissed that she seems willing to be sold.

“You should appreciate it when someone goes out of their way to help you.”

“Get your fucking hand off me,” she snaps, drawing back and slapping the shit out of me. “I’m a grown fucking woman, and you have no right to decide what I can and can’t do with my body.”

My eyes narrow, and I allow them to stray, falling down her body. Her curves are pronounced, and her tits are a decent size. With the makeup, she could pass for eighteen, but I know better. This is a little girl auction. So what if she’s a willing one?

Not on my watch.

Anything more will give away all the good stuff but trust me, it’s fireworks from there as Edward and the wild cat negotiate a different but mutually beneficial arrangement.

For him, she’s a perfect match. Sometimes it’s better to ask for forgiveness than permission.

Rated: Fiction M – English – Hurt/Comfort/Drama – Bella, Edward – Chapters: 11 – Words: 18,975 – Reviews: 1,345 – Favs: 444 – Follows: 873 – Updated: 18h ago – Published: May 2 – id: 13275915

Edward’s assistant gives him a rundown on Isabella Swan…

“Isabella Marie Swan, age 28, born in small town Goderich, Ontario to Charles and Renee. Prefers to be called ‘Bella’. Blood type A positive. Textbook vaginal birth with no complications. Parents divorced when child was two. Mother gained custody with visitation allotted with the father for summer vacations. Resided throughout Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Alberta and Ontario. As a young child, she was taken to emergency for one bout of pneumonia, one broken collarbone with cuts and scrapes from a bicycle accident, twice for sprained ankles and once for sprained wrist. No concerns of child abuse ever levied, or considered within the doctor’s notes.

Solid and consistent grades through high school, maintaining a B-plus grade average. Moved back to Goderich during eleventh grade to live with father. Graduated Goderich District Collegiate Institute with a 79 average. Worked part-time at Newton’s Outfitters. Attended Fanshawe Community College Woodstock for six years. Holds several diplomas, certificates and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. It looks like the initial plan was to start at Fanshawe, then move to Toronto and go to Ryerson or York, but the funds just weren’t there. Charles Swan married Sue Clearwater a few months before Isabella started college. The money went to the wedding and the mortgage of the family home instead. Isabella rented a small apartment in Woodstock with Leah Clearwater, her new stepsister, and waited tables part-time. High marks and honours from Fanshawe.

Upon graduating, she moved to Toronto and was employed here as an Administrative Assistant, third grade in the HR department. She’s since been promoted to second grade and is in line to be promoted again within the next few years. She rents a studio in a less than savoury neighbourhood, but on one of the nicer streets. She’s never been late with her rent and the landlord says she’s a model tenant; no parties, loud music or frequent guests. She holds a couple of store loyalty cards, pays off her credit card within a month, two at the very most. She rides the TTC or walks; no car in her name, but she does have a license to drive. She has no pets, no computer and no mobile phone.

She’s dated off and on, in college mostly, but nothing serious that we can find. She’s solidly heterosexual in her choice of partners. STD tests have been clear. She keeps fresh condoms in her bedside table. There’s a blue lipstick vibrator in the drawer as well, but the batteries are dead and she’s made no effort to change them in the two months we’ve been surveilling her.”

If you go forward with this, there is a very high probability she will keep quiet, especially with the proper incentives in place. This is the right girl, Mr. Cullen. She ticks every box and then some.”

The right girl for what, though? Only one hint…despite his motives, you’re not gonna like this Edward! However, we’re allowed to hate him until he redeems himself!

At least Bella’s not stupid enough to go alone when her abusive boyfriend forces her to make a drop…

“Where is he? James?” Curly says, placing the money back in the envelope as he ignores Piggy. The question is directed at Charlotte who shrugs and looks at me.

“I dunno, he said he had something to do,” I say, running a hand through my hair self-consciously. Curly looks like he doesn’t believe me but it’s the truth.

“You sure he didn’t say what he was doing?”

I shake my head.

Good-Looking catches my attention again as he lights his cigarette, his profile cast in light and dark, cheeks hollowing on his inhale. He exhales a cloud of smoke out the corner of his mouth and I can’t bring myself to look away.

“You’re James’ girl?” he says to Charlotte who starts laughing.

“Boo, do I look like I’d go near that asshole? I’d rather drink bleach. Nah, B, here is his girl,” she nods at me. He appraises me silently but Curly is more vocal.

“His girl? Well damn. Why didn’t you say? What’s your name, Doll?”

I want to lie, but I think better of it, resigning myself to small talk.

“Bella.”

“Bella,” he draws my name out, rolling it around his mouth as if he’s trying to taste it, try it out, see how it likes it. It makes me feel uncomfortable so I look away, still feeling the weight of his gaze. He says something but it’s a lot quieter, like he’s turned around, so I don’t hear it properly. A sharp voice in the negative makes me look up at them again.

Curly is shrugging and turns back to face us. Behind him Good-Looking is tense, frowning, taking another pull on his cigarette. He meets my eyes steadily, but it’s me who looks away first, unnerved. Maybe I should’ve been paying attention.

“Your friend don’t seem too keen on your boyfriend,” Curly says to me, amused. “Now, why would that be?”

He would pick up on that. I’m not sure where this is going so just as I say, “That’s not any of your business.” Charlotte chimes in with, “Are you for real?”

“Shut up, Char,” I hiss.

She’s not listening.

“You got eyes, ain’t you? He’s punchin’. My girl deserves the best and he definitely ain’t it.”

Curly smiles and I cross my arms frowning. What this has to do with anything I don’t know. This whole situation is beyond bizarre.

“And your name? Char?” Curly says his attention now on Charlotte.

“Charlotte. What’s it to you?” she retorts, clearly not in the mood to entertain even though she offered up details in the first place.

“Absolutely nothing, sweetheart,” Curly says nonplussed. Then, “This thing goin’ to be regular?” He looks at me. Does he mean doing this for James? I shrug a little. I hope to God that it ain’t.

“For future reference, this fat fuck is Ben,” he gestures to Piggy who glowers, still rubbing the back of his head. “GQ over there is Masen,” he waves a hand at Good-Looking. “And I’m Alec.”

“Well, I’d say it’s been nice meeting y’all, but I’d be lyin’. If we’re all good here, it’s getting real late, and a girl has to get some beauty sleep,” Charlotte says pointedly.

Opening the car door I slide in, half-expecting to be stopped. Never have I felt more relief for sitting in this rust bucket. Hastily I shove my keys in the ignition, realising my hands are trembling badly.

Alec swaggers towards us, tapping the window and leaning in when I wind it further down. His icy blue eyes meet mine.

“Tell James, he’s a grand short, if he’s not got it next week, Caius is going to take what’s his and make it his own—you know what I’m sayin’, Doll?”

He smiles again, and it chills me.

“Sure.”

As Alec moves away I find Masen watching—me or Alec I’m not sure. His expression is unreadable, but he’s dismissing whatever Ben is saying to him with a slow shake of his head.

I reverse out hurriedly and we’re silent until we hit tarmac and streetlights.

“Fuck this shit,” Charlotte murmurs.

“Yeah.”

Can’t wait to see what happens when James sends her again when he’s short and you know he will!

Bella is desperate to see her celebrity crush in person even if that means spending an entire week with her annoying co-worker, Edward Cullen. BxE, HEA

Rated: Fiction M – English – Romance/Humor – Chapters: 5 – Words: 8,421 – Reviews: 249 – Favs: 151 – Follows: 322 – Updated: Jul 5 – Published: Jun 7 – id: 13306372

Only a few people, most of them online friends, knew my deep, dark secret, and Edward Cullen wasn’t one of them.

I was a closet Arrowhead.

Arrowheads were fans of Aro Volturi—film star extraordinaire. I had been infatuated with the Italian actor since seeing his debut movie four years prior. With his boyish good looks, sexy accent, and alluring charisma, he encompassed everything I desired in a man.

And since I lived in Kentucky, I never had the opportunity to see Aro in person. Most of his appearances at film premieres and conventions were either on the east or west coast.

Sometimes, it felt as if the only stars who ever graced the Bluegrass State were country singers and NASCAR drivers. So when I learned Aro was going to be in attendance at the Savannah Film Festival, I knew I had to go.

As soon as the tickets went on sale for the event, I had purchased two; one for me, and the other, for my best friend, Alice.

Even though she wasn’t as passionate about Aro as I was, she had jumped at the chance to go on a girl’s trip with her best friend. She had even talked me out of flying and suggested we drive instead.

“It’s only nine hours away. We’ll save money and get to see parts of the country we’ve never seen before. Come on, Bella; it’ll be an adventure.”

It hadn’t taken long for me to agree, but now, three days before our trip was to begin, Alice had canceled, and I was heartbroken.

One guess who volunteers to take Alice’s place LOL!

In all honesty, I had been surprised by Edward’s suggestion to visit Cumberland. Alice had agreed to stop for a short visit, but I had felt awkward asking Edward to do the same. What was even more surprising was the fact he had remembered me talking about my alma mater and how much I had wanted to return.

Maybe Cullen wasn’t such an asshole after all.

As we drove down I-75, I stole a few glances at him out of the corner of my eye. The early morning sunlight streamed into the car, highlighting his profile, which featured a chiseled jaw, straight nose, and square chin. His rusty, brown hair flopped carelessly onto his forehead making him appear younger than his twenty-nine years.

“Are you checking me out, Swan?” His mouth curved into its trademark grin. “Because it sure feels as if you are.”

Heat filled my cheeks at being caught looking, but I most definitely wasn’t checking him out.

I changed my stance; Cullen was most definitely an asshole.

“Ugh! As if,” I said with a huff, crossing my arms against my chest.

“Whatever you say, Cher.” He chuckled.

“Well, well, well. Did the mighty Edward Cullen allude to a movie?”

“I do watch films,” he replied with a scoff, “and don’t change the subject, you were totally scoping out my goods.”

“Did you hit your head? Who even talks like that?” I said before repeating, “scoping out my goods.”

Cullen released a good-natured laugh before pulling onto the exit ramp.

“That was quick,” I mused as I pulled down the visor to check my hair and face.

“You look fine.”

“Wow, you really know how to make a girl feel special,” I teased as I powdered the shine off my nose.

He shook his head. “Gorgeous. Is that better?”

I rolled my eyes. “You don’t need to go to extremes and lie either.”

He mumbled something I couldn’t quite make out before saying, “Now, where to first?”

And the banter between these two only gets better and better LOL!

ROB ATTACKhttps://www.fanfiction.net/s/13270755/1/In-My-Brother-s-Shadow

As a child, Bella always felt second best when in it came to her twin brother, Emmett. Now years later, an accident has brought her back to Forks. Will she be thrust back into her brother’s shadow? Or will she be finally be seen as something other than Emmett’s sister.

Rated: Fiction M – English – Drama – Bella, Edward – Chapters: 11 – Words: 27,549 – Reviews: 1,181 – Favs: 625 – Follows: 1,105 – Updated: Jul 5 – Published: Apr 26 – id: 13270755

I called my father directly, while at the same time going on Facebook to look at Emmett’s page. My call went to voicemail as I stared at the screen, seeing message after message from people telling Emmett to ‘get well soon’ and sending their prayers.

What the hell? Was I the last person to know that my twin brother was in the hospital? I knew I lived on the opposite side of the country and we’ve never been close, but I thought I would get a phone call. I typed his name into the search engine but before I could hit enter my phone rang.

“Dad?” I answered quickly.

“Are you Isabella Swan?” a stranger asked.

“Yes, who’s is this,” I questioned.

“Dr. Cullen, I work at Forks General Hospital. We have been trying to reach your mother. The only number we have appears to have been disconnected,” he said.

“My mother. . . she passed away.” I turned to see if Alice was still in the room.

She was sitting on the edge of my bed, chewing on her thumbnail.

She looked at me wide-eyed.

“I’m sorry; I didn’t know.” He sounded apologetic. “Isabella, I need to speak with your current guardian.”

“I don’t have one; I’m emancipated. Can you please tell me what’s going on with Emmett? I heard on the news there was an accident, but I don’t know anything else,” I asked.

“I’m afraid your brother’s condition is very serious. Your father’s too, however, he sustained fewer injuries,” he explained.

“Wait. . . Ch. . . Dad was hurt too?” My heart skipped a beat, and I started to feel numb. “How bad is it? Are they going to survive?” I  started to get upset.

“I think it would be better if I could talk to you in person. Are you able to come here?” he asked.

“Yes, but you have to give me more. Are they going to live through this?” I jumped when Alice placed her hand on my shoulder.

“I’m fairly confident your dad will make a full recovery. It’s too early to know about Emmet. The sooner you can get here the better since right now you’re their only living relative,” Dr. Cullen explained calmly.

“I’ll be there on the next flight,” I promised and quickly hung up the phone.

~ ~ ~

“I need to pack. . . ” I started to stand, then sat again. “I need to get a ticket.”

“Wait, why are you going?” Alice asked incredulously.

“You know why. Both Emmett and my father are in the hospital,” I explained.

“So, handle it over the phone,” she insisted.

“The doctor asked me to come. I’m the only family they have left,” I told her.

“That fact didn’t have them running here when. . . ”

“Alice, stop.” I clenched my eyes shut as I felt a twinge of hurt from the memory.

“I’m sorry,” she said softly. “I’m trying to look out for you. I don’t like how they’ve never put you first. And here you are, ready to rush off to help them. I know you; you’ll stay and nurse them back to health. And that’s not a bad thing if the people you’re helping are appreciative of your efforts.”

“Thank you. And you’re right; I’m not them, which is why I have to go. He’s still my dad and Emmett’s my twin. Two wrongs never make a right,” I reasoned.

“I’ll get the tickets, you pack.” Alice shooed me from the chair.

Once she gets to Forks, she’s taken under the wings of Carlisle and Esme, along with their son, Edward, who Bella remembers from grade school as little Teddy…he’s not so little anymore!

“She wants to rant and scream hurtful profanities at this life invader, while the other half of her wants to pull him on top of her and scream about something else entirely.” AU, E/B, OOC, Alienward

Rated: Fiction M – English – Supernatural/Romance – Bella, Edward – Chapters: 19 – Words: 31,520 – Reviews: 318 – Favs: 139 – Follows: 280 – Updated: Dec 19 – Published: Nov 21 – id: 12732842

Bella Swan pulls her shoes off, grimacing at the smell of French fries emitting from her uniform, and slouches against her plush couch with a sigh. Her feet were mega sore from the double shift she pulled at Ollie’s, brain tired and numb from the hours of repetitive tasks.

Her mind eventually wanders and she begins musing over some conversations she had with some customers she’d served when her entire house shakes and the lights all around her flicker on and off rapidly before suddenly dimming to black.

She inhales in surprise, her trembling hands find her phone and switches it on for light.

What was that loud boom sound she heard? It lasted only seconds, but enough to spook her. And enough to alert her giant, lazy great dane, Red. Normally a dog who rarely raises his head to bark at the weekly mailman, his behavior now is strange. Red’s ears are low and his teeth bared, the only sound coming from him a low, but threatening growl.

Something feels wrong to Bella, but she brushes it off with logic.

The frigid night air hits Bella like a slap in the face as she opens the front door. She has a flashlight in one hand, her father’s knife in the other. Her cell phone is resting comfortably in her back pocket next to an extra pair of batteries for her flashlight – she feels ready for whatever may be ahead.

She follows the rock pathway to the driveway and makes her way to the backyard, sticking close the edge of the house. Her fist tightens around the knife, and then around her flashlight to steady it from her nervous shaking. Why is she so afraid?

She scans the backyard with a heavy beam of light, coming to a shaky stop on an old tool shed she’s never once bothered to go in. It’s completely demolished. The roof looks as if it caved in so significantly that the walls around it exploded. Littered pieces of wood scattered around the main mess, the light from her flashlight beaming off pieces of glass from the shattered shed window.

Bella’s breaths become labored, and her stomach rises to her throat.

The crater next to the shed is the size of a VW Bug with a sizable trail at the end that snakes into the forest. Her jaw is hung open in awe, she’s never seen anything like this in her twenty-two years. She is hoping for an asteroid or a satellite, but she sees no rubble or debris.

Shaken to her core, Bella frantically screams, “Hello?! I heard the crash! Is anyone out there?” She hears nothing in response. Alarmed that someone might be dying and need her help, she inches her way towards the end of the trail. She is yelling and yelling, “hello? Hello?

I’m here to help!” and waving her flashlight beam through the trees, searching for life, searching for a body, a mangled corpse…anything.

Instinctively, Bella refrains from reportin’ this strange hole to the authorities but enlists her best friend, Rosalie, for a her opinion.

Later that night, after a grueling, busy dinner and happy hour rush at Oliver’s, the girls determinedly make their way through Bella’s backyard towards the used-to-be-shed. Red is steadily following behind them, although he looks like he’d rather be anywhere else. While Bella bends down to pat his head, Rose inhales a loud gasp at the explosive demolition that is the shed.

“This is way deeper than I thought it’d be,” Rose says, nearly breathless. She tiptoes to the edge of the hole surrounded by the debris. “It’s not the shape I expected either.”

At that, Bella cocks her head and stands up. “What do you mean? It’s oval.”

Despite Red’s whine of protest, she slowly walks up to her friend to look down at the hole. Rose points out her finger with the flashlight beam on the small indents at each end of the oval, she counts five total – three on one end, two longer indents on the other. Bella is surprised she overlooked this observation the night before. However, with her panic in searching for a dead body, she could understand why she’d miss the small details. Now that she had the opportunity to really look at it, the hole formed to that of a large human shape.

“Do those three indents look like a head and arms to you?” Bella rushes out quick, before she loses her nerve by being the first to suggest something crazy. “A-and,” she stutters, “and those two longer ones at the bottom… legs?”

Rose takes a step back from the hole, and grabs Bella’s hand tightly, hurriedly pulling her to the house.

“Rose?” Bella asks urgently, “What is it?” She is ushered into the house with Red hot on her heels.

Rose makes sure they are secure inside and closes the door after them, locking the deadbolt. She takes a step back from the door and holds Bella’s hand. She looks over her shoulder at her best friend of eight years and says, her voice pinched with worry, “Bella…I know I sound like a crazy bitch but whatever was in that hole… it’s still out there.”

Bella is a successful E.R. nurse, so successful that she’s been offered an opportunity to be apart of the Colonization plan. That plan includes a long space travel to the planet Outerra and make a life. She never had much of a life on earth, so making a new life on a different planet was going to be tough. Maybe the right Outerrian can give her a life she never dreamed of.

Rated: Fiction M – English – Romance/Adventure – Chapters: 10 – Words: 19,511 – Reviews: 143 – Favs: 72 – Follows: 146 – Updated: Dec 18 – Published: Nov 7 – id: 12717676

“Morning dad.” I said, kissing him on the cheek.

“Morning Bells,” he said.

“What are you looking up?” I asked.

“I’m looking up Outerra. You have two weeks to get prepared and I want to make sure you’re ready.” He said.

I leaned over the bed and looked at his air tablet.

“Everything there sounds so nice. The air is cleaner, the water is unpolluted, the ground is rich. Bells, you’re going to have such an amazing life.” He said.

I laughed, “Sounds like it.”

“And, it won’t be over populated, like it is here. And the inhabitantsare all friendly.” He said.

“Really? How friendly could they be? I mean, aliens are coming to their planet to colonize.” I laughed.

“Apparently, the reason they agreed to this is because their species is dying. And the human race is compatible with theirs.” He said.

“Ah, so it’s like a breeding program?” I said.

“Hey, I bet you’ll meet a nice young Outerrian and live a happy life with him.” He said.

“What do they even look like? Do they look like us?” I asked.

He switched to images, only a few popped up. I scanned over the few photos. They looked pretty humanoid; two legs, two arms, proportionate size, no slimy tentacles or beaks, or anything that we’ve encountered from other lifeforms through our exploration of our vast universe.

“Hmm, they don’t really seem alien. I guess that’s a good thing.”

I chuckled.

“Yeah, you won’t be able to tell the humans and the Outerrians apart,” He clicked on a website on Outerrian culture, “Well, except this. It says on this official website that Outerrians have long tails.”

“Tails? Oh, that’s a major difference. What do the tails look like?” I asked.

He scanned through the website, “It just says their tails are long and covered in short hair, ranging from dark brown to black. Sometimes a rare reddish color.”

I made a slight face, “That’ll be interesting.”

“I’m glad you didn’t chicken out on me. I’m really glad you’re going,” he said, continuing his research.

“No, after our talk last night I really want to go. It sounds like a fresh start and its exciting,” I said, “So I’m going to call them today.”

“Your life is going to be a hundred percent better,” He said.

And a new TAILWARD streaks across our universe *woo hoo!*

Bella, a pretty and smart girl is leading the picture-perfect life. Edward, a rebellious and lost guy is barely passing the twelfth grade. Follow these two after they end up in bed together at the beginning of senior year and try to navigate a teenage pregnancy.

Rated: Fiction M – English – Romance/Drama – Chapters: 17 – Words: 64,072 – Reviews: 237 – Favs: 84 – Follows: 168 – Updated: 12h ago – Published: Nov 25 – id: 12736662

“Nooooo!” I cried as a sharp contraction hit. “I want the drugs!” I shouted as I squeezed Alice’s hands. At first, I wanted to see if I could do it naturally but I felt like my insides were being ripped apart. I needed the epidural if I was going to get through this day. Especially since I’d been in labor since one o’clock and I only dilated one more centimeter.

I was only halfway there and I’d been at this for six hours.

“Please! I want the drugs!” I cried as tears streamed down my cheeks. Edward had disappeared again to try and reach his Mom again, but I knew he wasn’t getting anywhere. She wasn’t going to show up. Even though he claimed he didn’t care, I knew he wanted her here. We weren’t keeping this baby, but it was still a big deal.

He was scared regardless and just wanted his mom to be there for him for once in his life. I understood that. My mom and I weren’t very close, but I still wanted her here for the birth of our son.

“Shhh,” Alice soothed. “You’re doing great!”

“Shut up!” I yelled. I knew my sister was just trying to encourage me, but I was in too much pain right now. “Sorry,” “It’s okay,” She assured me. “I give you permission to be as mean as you want to me while you’re in labor.”

“Thanks. You’re a good sister,” I laughed.

My doctor came to give me a checkup and laughed when I begged her for the epidural. She left for a few minutes and returned with what she needed and gave me the epidural. Within fifteen minutes, I was already feeling better. When Edward came back into the room, I didn’t want to cut his head off as much as I did earlier.

“What’s up?” He laughed when he saw me lying in bed.

“She got the drugs.” Alice rolled her eyes.

“I thought you were doing this naturally?”

“Naturally my ass!” I laughed. “You try pushing a person out of your penis and tell me if you wanna do it naturally,” I huffed. “Plus, that shit we learned in the birthing class did absolutely nothing.”

“As long as the baby is okay,” He gently placed his hand on my stomach. I watched as he smiled at my rounded belly and felt this horrible ping of guilt. He wanted to keep this baby and I told him it wasn’t an option. We’d been arguing about it since I made the decision, and he agreed to what I wanted.

But I could tell how much he wanted this baby to be his.

“Carlisle and Esme. . . ” I wanted him to meet them. Officially.

“Do you need more ice?” He asked as he removed his hand and grabbed the small ice bin next to my bed. Without an answer, he left the room in search of ice and left me alone with my sister. I knew he was getting me more ice as a way to avoid the conversation, but we needed to talk about this. He’d told me to do whatever I wanted after an argument and he thought I was going through with the adoption as an excuse. Trust me, if we were older and more stable I would have kept the baby.

But we weren’t. We were just about to graduate from high school.

We wouldn’t be able to do this. Carlisle and Esme, however, were grown adults. With jobs and a beautiful house in Tacoma and money to support the baby. And they had a whole lot of love for him and he wasn’t even born yet.

“He’s not dealing with this, Bella.” Alice sighed.

“I know.”

“It’s his. . . ”

“Don’t you dare finish that sentence!” I screeched. Alice let go of the subject as Edward came back with more ice. I knew he wasn’t dealing with the adoption, but once this baby boy was born he was going home with another couple. I understood how hard this was, but it was best for everyone. I didn’t want my boy raised in a broken home, being tossed back and forth between his parents. I wanted him to grow up in a stable house where his parents could focus all their attention on him. He needed stability and the two of us weren’t going to be able to do that for him.

I just hoped Edward would come to terms with that sooner rather than later.

As many fics as I’ve read about Edward and Bella as pregnant teens, I’ve seldom come across one that puts me in their shoes like this one!

Bella’s cousin, Jasper, has been workin’ with her to get her equine therapy ranch up and runnin’ but his imminent deployment to Afghanistan leaves her short handed.

“Rose, I really am busy, so can you just tell me why you called so I can get back to work?”

“Okay, okay, so I’m sending someone to come stay with you.”

“Whatahuh?” I asked confused. “Someone to stay with me? How so?”

“Jasper called me after he left there. . . ”

“Ugh!” I whined again, already knowing where she was going with it.

Rose continued as if she didn’t hear my complaint. “His name is Edward Masen. He’s a handyman that did some work on our bathroom last week.”

“He did work for you? That’s the only way you know this guy? He could be anyone.”

“I checked his references,” she defended herself.

“Ugh! If you just talked to Jasper about this a little bit ago, how have you already lined up this guy?”

“He gave me his number last week and said to please call him if I needed anything else done. So after I got off the phone with Jasper, I called him. . . and he said yes!”

“He was just like – ‘Sure, I’ll go stay with your friend out in the country and do random maintenance work around a ranch’? What kind of guy would agree to something like that without even surveying the job first. . . or the condition of the place he’s going to be staying in? Or the terms of employment?”

“Oh, Bella, you are far too paranoid. I’m sure it’ll be fine. The guy is like. . . a drifter, or something.”

“A drifter? Wow, this just sounds better and better.”

“Oh, come on. He’s not a serial killer,” she argued.

“How do you know?” I shouted in frustration. “You, being a Cullen, should understand that terrible monsters really do exist. Knowing what happened to Alice, how could you just invite a random strange man to come live with me out in the boondocks with no neighbors close enough to hear me scream?”

“This guy is nothing like. . . that creepy old guy that took Alice,” she whispered, obviously not wanting anyone around her to hear what she was talking about.

“And you know that for sure, how?” I challenged her. “Because a couple of his references checked out?”

“Yes, and because he’s really good looking. . . ”

“Yeah, so was the guy who took Alice,” I said perturbed.

“Oh Bella, look, I know you grew up in that situation, and everyone around you was always paranoid and freaked over everything, but not everyone is bad. Not even most people are bad. This guy seems very genuine, and he was looking for work, and said he’d be willing to travel. So when Jasper said you could really use someone staying out there with you to help around the ranch, I thought of him immediately and called him. He’s not a murderer. He has a clean record. Young. Handsome. Just someone looking for a fresh start. Much like you.”

“Wait, did you say his name is Manson? OK, nobody with that last name has ever been good. Marilyn Manson, Charles Mason. . . ”

“His name is not Manson, its Masen. Edward Masen. Come on, you’re getting silly with this.”

“I don’t know,” I said, mostly to myself. I hated pre-judging anyone, but with the upbringing I had, it was definitely difficult to trust strangers. Then again, if all went well, I’d be opening the ranch to strangers all the time, so I supposed I needed to learn to somehow come to terms with my fear of the unknown. And I really did need the help. . .

“I guess its OK if he comes. . . . On a trial basis only! If I get acreepy vibe or he steps one foot out of line, he’s gone.”

“Good, he will be there in a couple hours,” she said, taking me aback.

“What? He’s already on his way?”

“I hope you’re planning something good for dinner.”

“Rose!”

“What? I told him you’re a good cook,” she giggled, knowing all too well that I was a terrible cook.

Of course, Edward turns out to be just what Bella needs, both around the ranch and at her side! However, something about him seems strangely familiar to everyone who meets him…includin’ Bella!

Bella is driving in a snowstorm back to her hometown for Christmas. Along the way, her car gets stuck in a snowbank. Edward is a tow truck driver and pulls her out. Can an uptown girl fall for a guy with grease on his hands?

Rated: Fiction M – English – Romance – [Bella, Edward] – Chapters: 5 – Words: 38,993 – Reviews: 332 – Favs: 401 – Follows: 646 – Updated: 1h ago – Published: Dec 11 – id: 12756048

Bella, an uptight, cold executive, is on her way home for Christmas. The first Christmas she’s been home since she started working for the Fortune 500 company that hired her from college, almost ten years ago. The only reason why she’s going home is to meet her brother’s new wife and her parents threatened to cut her out of the will if she didn’t make time to see her family. However, it’s snowing, a blizzard and Bella’s car wasn’t really designed for the cold. Or snow. Or anything other than sunny, perfect weather.

Edward Cullen is alone on Christmas Eve, working, as usual. His family was long gone and all he had left was his family business, Cullen Towing Service and Garage, though that wasn’t going well for him. Business was slow. His bills were piling up and he was afraid he was going to lose his livelihood if something didn’t turn around. Over the radio, he heard about a stranded driver, stuck on the back road.

Edward pulled on his winter coat, gloves and started his truck, driving to the location.

A small sports car was stuck in a ditch, almost completely covered with snow. A beautiful woman, wearing heels and a fur coat was shivering outside her car. Edward immediately recognized her as the girl he once knew and had secretly crushed on for years. Her brother, Jasper, pretty much told him to fuck off and said that she was too good for him, a grease-monkey, a blue-collar boy.

Can this uptown girl fall for a guy with grease on his hands?

You know I still love Billy Joel’s song ‘Uptown Girl,’ but when I looked up the music video on YouTube, I was shocked to discover I had completely outgrown it *whimper!*

Grinchin’ ain’t easy, but Edward Cullen makes it look so damn good.

Standing, Carlisle holds up a packet of paper and rounds the table. “Your internship is coming to an end, and I must say you’ve both done a tremendous job over the past few months. We’re very pleased with your individual work, however, now we’d like to see how you work as a team.” He places the packet between us. “For your last assignment, we’re asking you both to coordinate the annual holiday party together.”

I hear Edward huff beside me.

“Esme’s already taken care of booking the banquet hall; you two will be responsible for the rest.”

Narrowing his eyes, Edward scans over the first page of the packet.

“What exactly does the rest entail?”

“Menu, centerpieces, DJ, employee gifts, and the like,” Rosalie answers, sliding a company card across the table. “Spending limits and budget suggestions are on the last page.”

Edward’s head snaps up. “Who are the Mr. and Mrs. Claus suit rentals for?”

“You, ya’ big dummy,” Emmett Cullen says as he enters the boardroom, ruffling his brother’s hair when he passes.

Smacking his hand away, Edward turns to his mother. “I want to file a formal complaint with H.R. on Emmett.”

Esme tilts her head. “Are you feeling unsafe?”

“No, just mildly annoyed.”

“Join the club,” Rosalie grumbles, shooting a look at her husband.

“Now, now, don’t get your tinsel in a tangle, little brother.” Emmett plops down in his seat, grinning.

Edward’s jaw clenches as he fists the packet, and I can tell by the slightly protruding vein in his forehead that he’d happily tangle tinsel around his brother’s neck at the moment, so I redirect. “Does this assignment take precedence over our day-to-day job duties, or would you like us to handle this in addition to our current workload?”

“We’d like for you to take care of this in addition to your current workload.” Leaning back in his seat, Carlisle props his elbows on the arms of his chair and steeples his fingers. “In the past, this has proved to be an excellent way for our interns to demonstrate their ability to work cohesively with others.”

“The CRM holiday party is one of the many ways we show our employees our appreciation for all of their hard work throughout the year.” Esme smiles warmly. “We hope you two will put together something fabulous that makes it clear to them how much they mean both to this organization and the Cullen family.”

I glance at Edward, who’s looking at our to-do list with the same pained, disbelieving expression my old roommate wore while watching the Dirty Dancing remake.

“Three weeks,” Carlisle says, holding up his fingers. “Think you two can pull it off?”

Edward and I exchange a look before turning back to his family. I paste on my most self-assured smile and pray I sound remotely convincing. “Absolutely, sir.”

Although it’s only a one shot, anything LayAtHomeMom writes is golden and this fabulous Christmas tale is no exception!

Merry Christmas, y’all!

Yay! Manchu and Half Pint are back and they’re not alone LOL!

“It’s been weeks, Bella! I’m dying over here.” I am. I truly am.

“I don’t know about you, but two close calls since the baby was born? Too many. Blame yourself.”

“I can’t help it if I have very virile sperm!” A wail comes from the monitor hanging off my belt loop and I sigh, knowing I’m beat. “I got her.”

“Thank you!” Bella sing-songs, the pleasure evident in her voice.

Walking dejectedly to the nursery, I smile big when I see the newest member of our quickly expanding brood crying and balling her fists up. “Shh, hey now, killer, Daddy’s here.” Lifting her up, I cradle her against my chest and kiss her head, inhaling that baby smell which makes me forget all my problems. Even being denied the beautiful curves of my wife.

“Did Mommy and Daddy wake you up? Daddy’s sorry, but he just loves your mommy so much he loses it sometimes,” I whisper against her forehead, placing a kiss and soothing her awhile before finally laying her on the changing table. “But don’t tell her, it’s our secret. Can’t have her thinking I’m wrapped around her finger.”

I blow a raspberry on her bare stomach and Viv gives me a gassy smile like she knows I’m a sucker and a liar as I place a fresh diaper on her before buttoning her up and placing her back in her crib. She fusses a little, so I grab the pacifier with the mustache on it and pop it in her mouth. She looks ridiculous, but thanks to hilarious friends and family, we keep getting them as gifts. She grasps my finger like she totally understands our conversation, and I smile down at her.

Her little eyes start to close so I stroke her baby fine hair until she settles. “Who am I kidding? All my girls are evil vixens. You’ve cast a spell on me.”

How long do you think Bella can hold out against Manchu on a mission to get laid? How do they thwart his super virile sperm when they both hate usin’ a condom? Oh, you’ll have to read to find out *wink!*

Apologies to those of you who have not read Deviant *gasp* but spoilers were inevitable in this case!

It’s the 1950’s and Edward has just returned home after five years in Cuba.

He leads me to a roof access door and we climb the stairs until we’re four stories above Rush Street, looking out at the city. Em unscrews the cap and tosses it over the side of the building before taking a huge swig. “There are big changes comin’ for us, Eddie.”

“Yeah?”

He points to the skyline. “All this is gonna be ours.”

I say nothing, letting him go on with the crazy talk.

“And it’s all because of you.” He comes towards me and grabs the back of my neck. “You ballsy motherfucker, you.” Pulling me close, he lowers his voice, “I know what you did.”

“You do?”

Em nods. “Dad said you did the hit. I mean, he didn’t go into detail, but you know.”

“Yeah, well . . . ” I trail off and snuff out my cig as memories from the night I put two slugs in that bastard’s skull flood my mind. “It had to be done.”

“It was fuckin’ brilliant,” Em muses, offering the bottle to me. “You weren’t even an associate at the time.”

“Nope,” I say with a laugh, thinking about how I was just some spoiled prick barely out of college. “That’s probably why no one suspected.”

“No one did.” He steps close to the ledge. “It made sense at the time when my dad said he got you out of here for your safety. He told the rest of the crew that you left for school then went to help him with his interests in Havana.”

“Ma said he sent her and Es to the ol’ country for a while.”

“Yep.” He looks out over the street. “This place went up for grabs, Eddie. Paulie and Felix had a goddamn field day. Made real names for themselves.”

“I’ll bet they did.”

We’re quiet for a bit, staring out into the city listening to the trains and sirens in the distance and the bustling traffic coming from the street below.

“Did you want to be the one who did it?”

“Yeah, I think so. I don’t know. It was so fucked up, man,” I say before striking a match and lighting another cigarette. “We were down at the morgue, ID’ing the body. My ma was goin’ wild, just losin’ it. But Uncle C, man, he was just. . . ” I’m at a loss for words letting the smoke billow out of my mouth. “Next thing I know, your dad’s pulling me into an office, saying they’ve got the guy who did it, and offering me the opportunity to handle it.”

Em nods, knowing that my father never wanted me to end up in the family business. “So you stepped up?”

“Yeah.” I hold up two fingers. “Your dad made two phone calls from the coroner’s office. The first was to Philly to confirm who pulled the trigger.”

“And the second?”

My lips curl into a sick smile. “The second person he called was Chopper.”

“Chopper? Old man Aro?”

“Yep.” I take another drag. “The night of the wake, we left the funeral home, met up with Chopper at the back of the Yards.”

“No shit?”

“No shit, man. Chopper had that greasy fuck hogtied on the slaughterhouse floor. Your dad handed me a .22, I pulled the trigger and that was that.” I shrug, feeling no remorse for my actions. No regret. No nothing.

Em spends the next few hours filling in the gaps, telling me all about what went down while I was gone all those years. We empty the bottle going back and forth as I listen to who killed who, who heads up what now and a coded rundown of who’s who in the family.

“The books are probably gonna be openin’ up soon,” Em says, looking at me to gauge my reaction at hearing that the family will be bringing in new members.

I don’t comment since I’m probably not eligible because I haven’t made my bones yet. At least none that anyone can know about.

Mobwards are so damned irresistible and LayAtHomeMom is givin’ us one for the ages!

Bella is a single mom of two boys trying to make ends meet. Edward is a successful business man. Can he help her? Will she let him?

I’m always pleased to discover a new author and Alyscia came to me by way of Bernadette Allyson Aquino from FB group The No Rules Twilight fan fic Recs Club!

“Welcome to Paul’s Diner, I’m Bella and I will be taking care of you today.” I give them my best smile while I hand them the menus.

“Hi, thank you,” the pixie woman greets me.

“We have Pepsi products, tea, and coffee. Can I get you anything while you look through the menu?” I put my pen to paper, waiting for any responses.

“Diet Pepsi,” Pixie orders.

“Do the Dew, please,” Linebacker laughs at his own joke and the blonde scolds him.

“Jesus, Emmett, are you five? Diet Pepsi.”

“Sweet tea,” the shaggy blonde guy answers, eyeing the pixie.

“Coffee, black, freshly brewed too, please. Also, make sure the cup is clean,” the scowling copper-haired man demands in a tight velvet voice without looking up from his phone.

“Jesus, Edward, I’m sure they have clean glasses.” Pixie rolls her eyes at Scowling Guy.

“Alice, have you seen this dump? I can’t believe you talked me into this shit.”

“Yes, our place has some character to it, but I assure you that our food is amazing. Seth, our cook, is attending Seattle’s best culinary school,” I defend the diner and Seth.

“Sure,” Copper guys says skeptically.

“I’ll just get those drinks for you.” I put my pad in my apron and quickly go and get the drinks for them.

I grab all the drinks and put them on a tray and walk back over to the table. “Here we go. Diet Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, do the Dew for you, sweet tea for the gentleman, and your fresh coffee in the cleanest of the clean cups, sir.” I keep my smile fun and cute while passing the cups around. Most of the group chuckles, but mister grumpy raises his eyebrow as if challenging me.

“Are we ready to order?” I keep with my chipper self, ignoring his challenge.

“Yes, we are.” They all chatter away with what they want, and then I get to mister cranky pants.

“I want a sub, pepperoni, salami, ham, mustard and mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato, and pickle on whole grain with provolone cheese. Do you think your cook can handle that?” He hands his menu to me with a cocky grin.

I raise my bitch brow with my own smirk. “I think you’ll find your sub more than satisfying, sir.”

I walk over to the window to put my order in to Seth. “Hey, for the sub give him the Bella special.” I wink.

I get to the window to pick up my order for the business group and smile, seeing that Seth did exactly what I wanted to mister grumpy copper hair.

“Here we go.” I hand the orders to everyone, the last one going down in front of him. I wait.

I hear them chuckle and laugh at him. He just stares hard at it, then looks at me with a confused expression.

“Did you seriously have my food made into a smiley face?”

“Yes, sir, I hope you enjoy your food. If you need anything, please feel free to ask.” I smile and wink and leave their table. I check my other tables and the boys, and before I know it the business group is stacking dishes, so I quickly get the check and take it over to them.

“I hope the food was up to your standards.” I put the check down on the table.

“It was the best I’ve had. This is going to be my lunch spot from now on.” Linebacker pats his stomach to drive his point home. The others nod their heads in agreement.

I wait for copper hair to respond but he keeps his face in his phone.

They give me a credit card and I quickly run it and bring their receipt and wish them a good day.

I start cleaning up another table and when I reach theirs I nearly faint at the sight of the tip. Five one hundred dollar bills with a note.

‘Best sub ever’

I sit down before my legs give out. I can get the kids clothes and more groceries. Someone upstairs is finally giving me a small break.

I’m such a sucker for a down-on-her-luck Bella catchin’ a break from a man of means…Edward, of course!

Tufano79 strikes again! Hell’n I’m beginnin’ to think she’s actually an Energizer Bunny in disguise *wink!*

“I love my job,” Dr. Edward Masen muttered as he sat in his Volvo. “I love my job. I really love my job.” One of the nurses waved at him as she passed him. He growled and ran his hand through hair. He did love his job, but he hated the vapid, awful nurses and single, female doctors, who saw him as a piece of meat. Someone to be conquered.

He was not some prize to be won, damn it. “Not today, bitches.” He got out of the car, swiping his messenger bag, white coat and lanyard with his ID card.

Walking into Harborview Medical Center, he dropped off his belongings in his rarely-used office and got ready for his twelve-hour shift as an emergency room attending physician. He focused his attention on doing his job, healing the sick and helping people. He kept his interactions with the female coworkers concise, but professional, though he’d rather not interact with them at all. He focused on his patients. He treated them respectfully and with the dignity they needed, especially when they were sick and scared.

He worked diligently, helping his patients and smiling warmly at them when they thanked him. This why he went into medicine, to help people. Not to fend off horny females, swatting them away like annoying gnats.

“Dr. Masen, we have a little boy with a suspicious rash,” said Shelly Cope, one of the charge nurses. “I’d send in one of the residents, but the boy is covered head-to-toe in this rash.”

“Thanks, Shelly,” Edward said, finishing his notes on his tablet. He handed her the tablet, getting the new one for the boy, Cole. He read the history and strode into the room. “Hello? My name is Dr. Edward Masen.”

“I’m Kathryn and this is my son, Cole,” the mom said. She was clearly worried and running her fingers through the boy’s hair.

“Why don’t you tell me the symptoms?” Edward asked, sitting down next to the quiet, sick little boy. Kathryn shared the symptoms and Cole piped up when Edward gave him a physical examination. “I think that you just have a mild form of malaria. It’s a heat rash.”

“I disagree,” said a petite, brunette doctor. She was dressed in a pair of gray dress pants and a light blue blouse, underneath her white doctor’s coat. She glanced at the tablet in her hand, wrinkling her nose. “Did you vaccinate your son?”

“Vaccinate?” asked Kathryn.

Edward looked at the young doctor. She was new, that was certain.

“A word, Dr. Swan?” he growled, glaring at her coat, seeing her name, Dr. I. Swan. The woman arched a brow, holding her tablet to her body. “Please?” They both gave Kathryn a clinical smile. Edward gestured to the hallway and glowered at the woman. “Who the fuck do you think you are?”

“Dr. Isabella Swan. Shelly paged me and asked me to consult on your case,” Bella said, holding out her hand. Edward sneered at her, leaving her hanging. She put her hand down, placing both of her hands on her hips. “And I would appreciate if you would not swear at me.” Edward continued to glare at her. “Look, I don’t think that Cole has malaria. He’s running a fever, which is not an indicator of heat rash. He also has never been vaccinated.” Bella showed Edward the medical records, showing that Cole did not receive any vaccinations.

“Regardless, you should have approached me since I’m his physician,” Edward snapped. “It makes me look incompetent.”

“If the shoe fits,” Bella snarled back. “You didn’t look at the whole picture. Nor did you run any cultures. You were going to release this boy back to his mom with his this highly communicable disease. I ordered Shelly to take his blood and test it, just to verify my diagnosis. If you would pull your head out of your own ass, you would have done the same.” Before he could respond, Bella turned on her heel, gliding back into the examination room and explained, calmly to the mother what she believed her son to have.

Edward was panting in the hallway, wanting to strangle Dr. Isabella Swan, regardless of how gorgeous she was.

What the fuck?

In a world where it has become the norm to date a supernatural being, no self-respecting woman would turn up at a party without one, would she?

Rated: Fiction M – English – Romance/Humor – Bella, Edward – Chapters: 3 – Words: 5,557 – Reviews: 135 – Favs: 98 – Follows: 214 – Updated: 12h ago – Published: Jul 24 – id: 12584528

My vampire rental arrived on my doorstep at twilight on what had been an unusually sunny day for September.

I opened my door and stared at the man whose only resemblance to his photograph was the uncomfortable expression on his face. It was as if he could smell something particularly unpleasant, such as dog excrement.

His eyes were shut tight so I had a quick sniff at my clothes. Not detecting anything untoward, I regarded the vision of beauty in front of me.

His long, bronze hair was in complete disarray, the very tips catching the last rays of the setting sun and forming a halo atop his head. His pale skin was flawless and smooth, his lips red and full – even though they were currently pressed firmly together – and his lashes were long enough to make girls the world over green with envy. He was obviously adept at applying his makeup for I couldn’t tell where he’d used it and where he hadn’t.

He took a deep breath in, sighed and opened his blood red eyes.

“Miss Bella Swan?”

His voice was deep and soft, and it wrapped around my name, enveloping it just like the red velvet of my cloak did my body on chilly evenings.

“Aren’t you going to invite me in?” he asked.

I shook my head and came back to my senses. “Of course,” I said, realising my error and moving to one side. I waved an arm in front of my body. “Do come in.”

He glided past me, mumbling something about humans having no sense of self-preservation, and placed his holdall on the floor beside the sofa. He turned and looked around my apartment.

“You only have the one room,” he said.

“Yes. Well, this and a bathroom.”

“Where is your bed?”

“The sofa pulls out.”

“Oh.”

“Oh? Oh no! I didn’t think about where you would sleep.”

“I won’t be needing a bed.”

“Of course you won’t. Perhaps you’d like to hang upside down from one of the joists, or I could empty my blanket chest if you like. It’s quite long. If you bend your knees, you might just fit.”

“You really have no idea, do you?”

“Not really, no.”

“I don’t sleep hanging upside down. Nor do I sleep in a coffin. Vampires don’t sleep at all.”

“You keep going all night?”

He raised an eyebrow. “We have been known to, yes.”

I didn’t know whether to laugh or blush. I did the latter. “So, what will you do while I’m sleeping?”

“Watch you.”

“No! No way! That’s creepy.”

“I’m a vampire. It’s my job to be creepy.”

“Please tell me you don’t mean that.”

“Isn’t that why you hired me?”

Had it not been for a very sweet PM from DataByteDL-FangirlinGrandma, I mighta waited until Moosals hit the complete button on her latest endeavor! Boy, am I glad she persuaded me not to wait…thanks, Dee darlin’ *HUGS!*

Okay, so it’s another New Moon AU…shoot me LOL!

The scratching of Alice’s pencil halted and I turned to look at her. Her face was blank and her eyes glazed. She was seeing something beyond the lounge and judging by her emotions it wasn’t something good.

I suspected it was Edward, she had seen a few visions of him when he first left. She was waiting for the moment he decided to return to Bella, we all were, but as time passed the visions stopped. He had either found a way to avoid her sight or he had ceased making decisions altogether. That had worried her, and she had not spoken of it to Esme or Carlisle, they had been with him the longest and were both having difficulty dealing with his absence.

She came back to the present with a muffled cry, her emotions were a crippling mess of shock and horror.

The sound of her cry brought Esme from the guest room and Emmett from the kitchen. Only Rosalie and Carlisle were absent, Carlisle was at work and Rosalie was in the garage behind the house, she would not have heard Alice’s cry from that distance.

“Alice, what is it?” I asked. Pulling her into my lap and comforting her as best I could.

“Bella.”

The effect of that one word was instant. Esme clapped a hand to her mouth and Emmett shot around the couch to squat in front of us both.

“What about her?” he asked. “What’s happened to her?” He gripped her arm with such force Alice flinched.

“I didn’t look, the vision came to me on its own,” she said impatiently. “But that doesn’t matter, Bella’s been hurt, seriously hurt. I don’t know what happened to her, but she’s in hospital and it looks bad.”

Esme let out a small sob and wavered on her feet, Emmett moved to her side and put his arm around her shoulders, steadying her.

He turned to Alice. “Did you see Charlie or Renee there, if she’s in hospital they should be there, right?”

“I can’t see anyone else there, she’s all alone.”

“Try and search for Charlie’s future,” I suggested. “Maybe he was hurt too. It could have been a car accident or something like that.”

Again she slipped into the blank gaze that accompanied her visions but this time she snapped out of it much faster.

“I can’t see anything, there’s nothing but black for Charlie, and I don’t know Renee well enough to be able to pinpoint her future.”

“That’s okay,” I reassured her. “You can’t be expected to see everything.”

Emmett was calling the hospitals in the Forks vicinity trying to track Bella down. He finally found her in the Olympic Medical Center. He was currently trying to pry information about her condition, his wheedling tone slowly changing to one of irritation.

“Well fuck you too.” He finally roared into the receiver and threw it down. “They won’t tell me anything as I’m not ‘family’,” he sneered the word.

“Maybe Carlisle will have more luck when he gets home,” Esme suggested.

Just then we heard the squealing of brakes and the skidding sounds of Carlisle’s Mercedes making the turn into our driveway at high speed.

He ran through the front door and caught Esme as she launched herself into his arms sobbing.

He smoothed her hair and led her to the couch then crouched down to face Alice. “What did you see?”

Though he was outwardly calm his emotions were a raging confusion of fear and pain.

“She was in a hospital bed, her chest was bandaged and she wasn’t awake. There were machines and…” She lost control of her emotions and sobbed into my chest.

“Okay, it’s okay Alice, I will call the hospital and see if I can get more information. The rest of you, pack what you need, we’re going to Forks.”

Carlisle picked up the phone and the rest of us dispersed to gather anything we may need to take with us. I went to the safe in Carlisle’s office and grabbed the false ID cards and passports for us all. In an envelope at the back were two other sets of identification in the name of Bella Cullen and Bella Masen. I grabbed those too, it was best to be prepared.

When we reconvened in the lounge Carlisle was just finishing his call. “Yes, thank you for your help. We will be there as soon as we can.”

Carlisle hung up the phone and turned to us with a serious expression. For a moment I thought we were too late, that Bella had died. Apparently, Esme thought the same as she shook her head jerkily, whispering. “No, Carlisle, please don’t say it.”

He took her in his arms. “Not Bella, Charlie.” We let out a collective sigh of relief then immediately felt guilty.

Charlie was dead. Bella’s father. What had happened to them?

“Jasper,” Carlisle said turning to me. “I need you to get in touch with Jenks, we need a document naming us Bella’s guardians in Renee absence.”

“Where is Renee?” Esme asked.

“I don’t know.” Carlisle said rubbing his forehead wearily. “I spoke to one of Bella’s doctors and he said they hadn’t been able to contact her.”

“Oh, I hope she’s okay,” Esme fretted.

“We don’t have time to discuss this now,” Emmett said impatiently. “We need to go. Are we going to drive or get a flight?”

“Flying would be faster,” Esme said. “Alice can you check the weather conditions.”

She blanked out again for a moment, but came back with a relieved smile. “We’ll be fine. It will be early morning by the time we get to Forks and the day is overcast.”

I called Jenks and arranged for the documentation to be delivered to our Forks house the next morning. He griped about the speed but after some well chosen words and thinly veiled threats he was more agreeable.

It was already dusk here so we wouldn’t have to stick to the shadows at the airport. We gathered our bags and headed out to the cars when Rosalie spoke up.

“What about Edward?”

Shit.

OH,MY.GOD! This is such a great read! It certainly kept me readin’ into the wee hours for days on end LOL!

What stories have enthralled you through the lazy days of summer?

Happy Sunday, y’all!

Bella has been alone in the world for a long time so she has focused all of her energies into her business and her staff. As loneliness starts to creep up on her she has to learn to ask for help as her business is attacked and two very different men enter her life. How will she cope as her safe controlled world changes quickly and she has no idea why.

Alicia’s first AN…

This is going to be a little different, I think. Bella is very focused, almost abrasive in her manner unless she is with a client and, at the beginning, unable to form any sort of personal attachment.

It is an Edward and Bella story but he won’t appear for a while so don’t worry. When he does show, it will alter her carefully constructed world.

Ha! That’s puttin’ it mildly *gigglesnort!* Now, since my banner pretty much gives it away, let me introduce you to HHD {Hot Homeless Dude}!

He was obviously homeless and had been so for a while by the look of him. His clothes were stained and dirty, his hair unkempt and looked a really funny colour and his matching beard was as straggly.

I ran past him the first time. I was too mad with myself to approach him but by my second lap I was ready so I slowed my pace as the bench came into view. He was still in exactly the same position and for a moment I wondered if he was sleeping, if he was I didn’t want to wake him so I slowed right down and came to a stop in front of him.

His breathing was even and deep. I couldn’t help but stare at the dirty worn coat that moved with his chest, he seemed so relaxed and at peace that I decided to just leave him alone. I moved closer to him as I had the urge to tough him but I stopped myself at the last moment. As I made to move away I must have startled him because he opened his eyes and looked straight at me. They were the purest shade of green I have ever seen, crystal clear white surrounded a crisp green iris and a dark black pupil. It was the same strange stare from our previous meeting. I waited for him to acknowledge me but once again he just stared without speaking.

I took the initiative and spoke first ” Hi, I’m Bella and I need to apologise to you.

One thing’s for sure, I’m dyin’ to find out HHD’s backstory!

Bella Swan has been slowly destroying herself since Edward left her, but its all about to change when she goes too far and overdoses, ending up as Carlisle’s patient in the ER…

Rated: Fiction M – English – Hurt/Comfort/Romance – Bella, Edward – Chapters: 14 – Words: 52,499 – Reviews: 269 – Favs: 255 – Follows: 486 – Updated:Jun 22 – Published: Oct 19, 2015 – id: 11568333

He was nearing the end of his shift when it happened.

“Dr Cullen,” a young red haired nurse called, as she approached where he stood at the desk. He had just handed over his notes so that one of his current patients could be discharged. She was out of breath when she reached him.

“There’s another overdose patient,” she panted, “Sorry, but we need you.”

He knew why she was apologizing, his shift was supposed to end very soon. Most doctors would have been irritated and tired this late into their shift, but he wasn’t most doctors. He could work indefinitely, and if he didn’t have a wife at home, he probably would have. He nodded to the nurse, and followed her direction to where the patient was being worked on.

As they walked, the nurse explained the situation.

“A car just pulled up outside and dumped her here,” she told him, “she’s got no ID and we don’t know what she’s taken. Looks to be a mixture of drugs and alcohol though.”

He knew what would have to be done, he’d known almost as soon as the nurse had mentioned that the patient had overdosed. They reached the patient then and he almost froze at the scent of the woman in front of him. She had lost weight, had partially dyed hair and a piercing through her nose and more than one in her ears. In the two years since they had moved from Forks, leaving her behind, she had changed herself almost beyond recognition. He would never forget her scent though, despite what his son had decided to do, she would always be a part of their family. It hurt him to see what she had reduced herself too, but his hurt fueled his actions. He had to save her.

These first few paragraphs grabbed me hard and I wait anxiously for the drafts of each new chapter to land in my inbox ’cause guess who’s the beta!

In a dystopian world where civilization barely survives, Edward has spent his whole life training to protect his society, his family and the girl who has captured his heart.

Rated: Fiction M – English – Sci-Fi/Adventure – Bella, Edward – Chapters: 5 – Words: 10,322 – Reviews: 141 – Favs: 137 – Follows: 291 – Updated: Jun 19 – Published:May 24 – id: 11962912

The Commander calls my name and I step forward. With a steadying breath, I return his gaze and nod slightly. I watch as the knife cuts into my palm and the blood begins to flow from the wound. I raise my left arm to the people facing me as I begin to recite my Oath.

“I, Edward, son of Esme, daughter of Emily, daughter of Emma, daughter of Elaine, daughter of Eleni of the house and lineage of Elizabeth, do freely and without reservation pledge my Oath to the people of this valley, that I will serve and protect them, that I will forego all selfishness and place their needs before my own, that I will remain loyal and steadfast until my service ends. This I swear with my blood which I shed this day.”

I am calm when the Commander turns to the audience and announces that I have been assigned as a Ranger. A murmur makes its way through the crowd, and I see a few looks of shock and dismay. My parents come forward and begin to give me my Ranger’s gear. In addition to a new sword, my father straps a short knife around my thigh. He loops a long, lethal bullwhip around my left shoulder and a quiver of arrows and a bow on my right shoulder. Mother attaches the Ranger insignia, and Alice pins my Oath Taker medal to my tunic.

My gaze shifts up to my brother, who is staring back at me with a look of such sadness that my breath catches in my chest. As I watch, he begins to stand and, as though in slow motion, the rest of the Protectors stand the audience and all the cadets rise to honor the vow I have just made. They know, as well as I do, what this assignment means. I glance back at my Father, whose jaw is clenching to hide his emotion. My Mother’s eyes are glassy with unshed tears and my little sister Alice is… smiling?

I’ve just been given an assignment that is tantamount to a death sentence, and Alice is smiling.

If THAT doesn’t make you sit up and take notice, I don’t know what will!

“One hit will make you change your mind.”

Rated: Fiction M – English – Romance/Humor – Bella, Edward – Chapters: 3 – Words: 10,672 – Reviews: 392 – Favs: 397 – Follows: 667 – Updated: 19h ago- Published: Jun 10 – id: 11990800

And now for something completely different…

I wave the gloves at him. “What are we doing with these?”

“We’re going to transplant a few of the hybrids to get them ready for their flowering cycle.”

“Cool.” I bob my head. “But again, in the interest of full disclosure, I’d like it noted that no plant has ever survived in my care.”

“Duly noted,” he calls from over his shoulder as he leads us over to a dirty counter top.

Normally whenever anyone talks at length about anything science related, after about thirty seconds they sound like the teacher on Charlie Brown to me. I admit most of the shit about stable root systems and proper soil saturation goes right over my head. But what I don’t miss is the way his eyes flicker to mine when our dirt covered fingers brush repeatedly in the soil or the easy smiles that come from the playful nudges and relentless teasing.

“Congratulations,” he says when we’re done. I quirk a brow at him earning me another smug grin. “You had a successful interaction with a plant without a fatality.”

“Only time will tell.” I walk back over to the E.C. Kush area. “When will my plant get the purple flowers on it?”

“Within the next thirty to forty days or so.”

“So pretty,” I murmur, softly touching the fine leaf hairs, feeling his eyes on me. “Too pretty to smoke it.”

“One hit will make you change your mind.”

Something about the way he says that makes my insides flip. “Probably would.”

As a child of the Sixties, I thought I knew a lot about weed, but this fic is an education and a half LMAO!

Well, these are my picks this week…what are yours?

Happy Friday, y’all!

Bella is sexually unfulfilled after four horrible encounters. She meets Edward Masen, and things begin to change. Edward is sexally insatiable and Bella has been told she’s frigid. B/E/AH/AU/OOC. Rated M for a reason! Lemons to follow. Humor/Sarcasm

Rated: Fiction M – English – Romance/Hurt/Comfort – Edward, Bella – Chapters: 27 – Words: 195,999 – Reviews: 2,352 – Favs: 3,372 – Follows: 2,596 – Updated: Jun 11, 2012 – Published: Jun 27, 2009 – Status: Complete – id: 5169904

It wasn’t Dr. Carlisle like the door said. It was actually E. McCarty, MD., according to the embroidery on his white coat. He was big – really big. Tall—good grief, he had to be like 6’3″.

“Describe your last panic attack, please? Take your time, details are not required here… just the general idea.”

“Well, I was on a date with Tyler Crowley. We were in his car. The date was…well, I thought the date was almost over.” The last part came out in a rush. “TylerCrowleytouchedmybreastsandIstartedtohyperventilate. I didn’t black out, though. I just-got out of the car and ran inside.”

“Bella, have you been on a date since then?”

“Uh…no?”

“Have you touched anyone? Hugged someone? Held anyone’s hand or touched someone’s forearm? That was the instruction in Pfeiffer’s notes for your last visit with him.”

“Uh….er….I… bumped into someone at the Frosty Freeze. Does that count?”

“Every little bit helps,” he said softly, surprising me. “I want you to do two things before I see you in two weeks. First, I want you to make non-threatening casual contact with someone you trust. It can be any form of touch that you think you can handle. Second, I want you to say yes to two things that you normally would decline.

“Okay Dr. McCarty. Thanks. This was better than I thought it would be.”

“We don’t break out the whips and dildos until the second visit,” he said deadpan.

My eyes became as round as saucers, and then I began to laugh…and then snicker…and then guffaw….

He was laughing too.

“One last thing, Bella,” he said. “Hug, handshake or high five?”

Before I could stop myself I blurted out, “Hug.” I was immediately, albeit gently, engulfed in a soft, warm embrace and then released just as quickly.

“Well done, Bella. You can consider that completion of assignment number one.

Now go out there and get to work on assignment two.”

OMG! Emmett McCarty as a sex therapist? Actually, in this fic, he made a great one LMAO! Needless to say, Bella literally stumbles into Edward in the reception area of the doctor’s office and his problem is the complete opposite!

“Insatiable huh?” I couldn’t help grinning. “Is that the clinical expression for a sex addict?”

A horrified look appeared on his face. Frowning, shaking his head and looking down he stuttered, “Nnno. I’m not a sex addict. I don’t want to deal in numbers exactly… but let’s say that being with me sexually is frustrating for me and physically taxing for the average woman…I tend not to inflict myself on others. It’s more compassionate that way.”

“Wow,” I breathed. “What a pair we are. You can’t get enough, and I can’t get off at all,” I blurted out in a strangled voice. I sputtered and began laughing. Gasping and clutching the arms of the chair, I managed to get out, “I’m NOT laughing at you…. I swear! I’m laughing at the situational irony.”

You’re gonna read this, right? How else are you gonna find out if their “issues” cancel each other out!

Edward’s an addict resisting treatment, Bella’s a girl who just wants a boyfriend already. What happens when they get paired up for a Biology Project? Bio Lab could get interesting…

Rated: Fiction M – English – Romance/Hurt/Comfort – Edward, Bella – Chapters: 70 – Words: 211,412 – Reviews: 12,648 – Favs: 3,955 – Follows: 3,302 – Updated: Jun 3, 2012 – Published: Dec 31, 2011 – Status: Complete – id: 7693130

“So. How many times today, Edward?”

I sighed in resignation, the embarrassment of telling my adoptive father how many times I got off in one day truly wearing.

“Only ten.”

“That’s an improvement,” he responded brightly, seemingly pleased with my progress.

“Well if the scenery were better,” I muttered and closed my mouth before I got the lecture.

Hehehehe! I’m sensin’ a recurrin’ theme here today…

The new girl beacon seemed to be shining brightly.

And as I started the awkward walk towards the school office, I knew this would be my only chance to start something new.

New start. New Person. New Life.

Old innocent Bella Swan was no more.

New Bella.

I could be whomever I wanted this time.

Perky. Bubbly.

Maybe not.

Confident. Sure of herself. Dare I say sexy?

I’d shoot for that.

And maybe, finally, I’d get me some.

I was going to make this the best year ever.

So, Edward’s tryin’ to be good and Bella’s doin’ her best to be bad. The tug of war begins when Edward and Bella are paired up to “parent” a fuckin’ bag of fluor LMAO!

Mr. Banner pulled up a box from the floor, and produced a bag of flour in his hands, showing it to everyone with a broad smile. He plopped on at each table, setting ours in between us.

I looked at the sack in confusion.

Were we baking? In Biology?

I was great at baking!

I could make Creepy Hot guy my special pie.

“Introducing your children!”

“Oh, fuck me,” Edward murmured hoarsely beside me.

All I could think of was yes please.

*Pinks tear!* God, I’m glad I graduated high school before that nonsense became all the rage!

Enjoy The Biology Project and tell me if any of you had such ridiculous assignments in high school!

Friends are forever, boys are whatever – unless it’s Edward Cullen. Then the gloves come off.

Rated: Fiction M – English – Romance/Humor – Bella, Edward – Chapters: 14 – Words: 60,924 – Reviews: 2,463 – Favs: 1,250 – Follows: 2,075 – Updated: Oct 3 – Published: Jun 27 – id: 10486974

Anyone who’s ever read one of LayAtHomeMom’s fics knows you’re in for a real treat when she starts postin’ a new story and I couldn’t wait for this one to complete before bringin’ it to your attention!

Call me weird, warped…whatever, but the mean girls in Girl Code crack me the fuck up! The meaner they are, the funnier I find ’em LMAO!

There are lots of fucked up things about our little group of friends, especially Alice. I consider her my very best frenemy.

We get along because we have to and have known each other far too long not to. She’s all of five feet and two inches and 100 lbs of pure balls and bitch. Maybe I’m being too harsh, because she’s not all bad per se. She can be funny sometimes, clever for sure, and loyal to a fault when it suits her. However, once you piss her off, she can go from zero to psychopath in about thirty seconds flat.

Yeah, you’re not gonna like Alice in this one *gigglesnort!*

“James is just really private.” I hear Victoria say seconds before my bedroom door opens. “That’s why he doesn’t want anyone to know about us.”

Dear, sweet, naïve Victoria. She and James are Port Townsend’s worst kept secret. It’s a damn shame she’s too sprung on him to see what a scumbag he is. Cocky and condescending, the guy is a total prick. I don’t get the appeal. My best guess is that he has a ten inch dick. God bless her for seeing the good in everyone. I just hate how he strings her along.

It’s not until Bella’s best friend, Victoria, sets her sights on the new guy…the new guy who has his sights set on Bella, that the back stabbin’ and cat fights begin and they are hilarious! Well, to me, they are!

Before I can stop myself, the question rolls off my tongue like an accusation. “What about James?”

Still admiring her legs for days and ass for weeks in the mirror, she brushes me off. “What about him?”

“Well, I thought you liked him.”

“I do,” she says with a shrug, sounding utterly non-committal.

“And you like Edward too?”

Nodding, she answers in the very same tone. “Yeah.” She sees my reflection in the mirror and everything about it from my furrowed brow to my slack jaw screams ‘what in the ever-loving fuck’. “What?” she asks defensively. “I like them both.

If James doesn’t see the good thing he’s got, maybe Edward will.”

I take a drink from my iced coffee to cool the white-hot rage surging through my body. I’m trying to wrap my head around the fact that she wants James, but has Edward behind glass in case of emergency, like on stand-by.

I watch her play with her hair, bunching it up on top of her head and then pulling it down. “Which one do you think I should be with?”

Now here’s where a good friend would level with her. Be completely upfront and honest about my interest in him. Tell her all about the hand holding and my zero mutual friends on Facebook status, thus proving that he’s into me as well.

I know this is the right thing to do.

It’s also the rational thing to do, but the buck stops there, because if there’s one thing I know about girls in general, it’s that most of us aren’t rational. More than likely she won’t be cool about the situation and give her blessing. She’ll piss on him, claim him, and James will be nothing more than a memory, because she’ll be all about Edward.

Chicks before dicks. Besties before testes. Fries before guys. These are a small fraction of the rules by which girl world is governed. For the most part, I hold these truths to be self evident – except in the case of Edward Cullen.

So, did I deliver fluff or did I deliver fluff!?!

Happy Friday, y’all!
