Somewhere, just off an Arizona highway in the Sonoran Desert, there’s an inn carved into the rocks. The owner and her staff are beautiful and eager to please… until it’s time to leave. There’s no way out, and beauty is skin deep. This is not a love story.

Anybody seen From Dusk Till Dawn? This story has that evil vibe of “once you go in, you never come out” about it! Well, I did say it was weird LOL!

Edward and Jasper are on their way to Lackland Air Force Base in Texas for bootcamp to become flyboys…needless to say, they never make it there!

The sun began to sink as they sped through Yuma, kicking up dust and pointing at odd, phallic-shaped cacti and gorgeous tile-roofed cottages in every size and color. The dummy light kicked on a few miles outside of Gila Bend, so Jasper eased the Jeep off the highway at the first Love’s Travel Stop along the way.

The sky was golden pink in every direction when Edward’s feet hit the concrete next to the gas pump. He reached for it and stretched on his toes. Then he twisted his neck back and forth and grinned.

A tiny brunette in tinier denim shorts peeked around the pump and eyed him head to toe. Edward smirked and nodded. “What’s up?”

Her red lips curved into a wide grin, and she lifted her sunglasses to rest on top of her head. “Hi.”

Edward swiped his card and waited a few moments before keying in his PIN. He lifted the nozzle and hit the button for regular unleaded. Then he waved at the cutie and followed Jasper inside to take a piss and maybe grab a candy bar.

She followed him through the store and over to the short line at the register. “I’m Isabella,” she said.

He glanced back. “Edward.”

Jasper saved him by cutting between them with his arms loaded with candy and sodas. “It’s going to be a long night, and some guy in the shitter said the next gas station is on the other side of the desert.” He noticed Isabella and lost his train of thought at the sight of her cleavage against the orange tank top that clung to her slim waist.

Edward shoulder-checked his friend to turn him around so they could pay and hit the road. His head cleared the second he breathed in fresh air. The harsh smell of gasoline greeted him back at the pump. There was a small puddle next to the back tire.

A tall guy in swim trunks and Chacos popped his head around the tank. “The auto-shut off failed,” he said with a shrug. “Sorry I couldn’t stop it sooner.”

Edward groaned when he saw the charges but reached out  to shake the stranger’s hand. “Thanks, man.”

“Any time.”

Isabella’s perfume danced on the breeze. “Let’s go, Felix,” she said, folding her tiny frame around her companion’s thick side. “I want to get back before dark.”

Felix nodded and checked the ties on a tarp covering the back of their rusty old pickup truck. Isabella turned to Edward and smiled. “Be careful out there,” she said. “The desert can get a little weird after dark.”

She backed away and held his gaze as she made her way to the passenger side of the truck. A flash of red reflected in her eyes from the truck before she lowered her sunglasses to shield them from the setting rays. The engine rumbled to life, and Felix waved before pulling away and kicking up a trail of pebbles and dust in his wake.

Jasper started the Jeep and tapped the dash. “Let’s go,” he said.

He comes in for the stale coffee and the girl behind the counter. She lives for the moments he walks though her doors. Can she snag herself a star? Can he handle being caught? HOCKEYWARD EXB

Rated: Fiction M – English – Romance/Humor – Chapters: 21 – Words: 64,934 – Reviews: 753 – Favs: 272 – Follows: 509 – Updated: 19h ago – Published: Oct 3 – id: 13401069

“Hi, I’m Bella. Want to go out some time.”

No matter how many ways I phrased it, it sounded like I was a desperate fangirl. Everyone knew Edward Cullen, star hockey player for the Seattle Twilight. I wanted to know the guy who ordered black coffee and lemon muffins. I wanted to know the guy behind the breathtaking smile.

I was taking Rosalie’s advice. I was going to talk to him the next time he came in—no matter what. It’d been a week since he’d been in and flirted with Angela while I peeped him from the stock closet, and I could hardly stand it. I’d spent that time doing my homework on him.

Yes, I started watching hockey with Emmett. I’d sat through three games and listened as he explained how the game was played. All the stupid, confusing rules. He explained the beard. There was some superstitious thing about hockey players and playoffs and beards, but apparently, Mr. Cullen did the beard thing throughout the season.

Maybe his cheeks got cold out on the ice. I had no idea. He was hot in spite of the bear straddling his jaw, but it didn’t make me any happier about it. I really, really liked his face, and that thing covered up too much pretty.

The day had been slow, which was both good and bad. Good because if he showed up I wouldn’t look like crap, but bad because I had way too much time to stand around and think about him. And think about what I was going to say to him.

“I notice you like your coffee black. How’d you like some sugar with that coffee.” I snorted at my own corny remark. God. I was losing my ever-loving mind.

“I’m Bella Swan, and I stare at you every day. Is it weird that I’m obsessed with you?” I smacked my forehead against the counter and groaned.

“It is a little weird.”

I held my breath. Oh God.

I looked up slowly, and there he stood. Smiling. “I’d rather you use the first approach, though. The answer is yes. I’d love to go out with you.”

My tongue swelled in my mouth, and I had the urge to bite down so it wouldn’t disappear down my throat. That’s what happened when you had a seizure, right? I was pretty sure I was having a seizure. “What?”

He chuckled and it was just beautiful. Just how I imagined it would be.

What can I say…we all love a good Hockeyward, right?

{and because we can never have too many banners…}

More weirdness…

Ye who, passing graves by night, Glance not to the left nor right, Lest a spirit should arise, Cold and white, to freeze your eyes…

Rated: Fiction M – English – Supernatural/Romance – Chapters: 14 – Words: 6,383 – Reviews: 399 – Favs: 105 – Follows: 200 – Updated: 6h ago – Published: Oct 9 – id: 13406126

“Bella!” Eric burst into my office, a pile of papers in his hand. “You’re never going to believe where we got permission to investigate!”

I leveled him with a glare. “Have you ever heard of knocking, Yorkie?”

Eric Yorkie was our tech manager and also helped with scheduling our investigations. Ever since we started out as a group of misfits who lurked in the dark looking for ghosts, he was our go-to guy. He was annoying and overbearing, but he was great at his job.

“I’m sorry, I-I—” he stuttered as he began to back out of the room.

I sighed, rolling my eyes. I knew I was overreacting, but I had just spent three hours looking over video footage from our last investigation. I was exhausted, and we had found very little—if any—evidence for Mrs. Cope. “Oh, just get over here. What’ve you got?”

He grinned, tripping over his own feet as he rushed toward my desk. “Fort Rodman!”

My eyes widened. “Fort Rodman?”

“Yep. Fort Rodman.”

“Eric, I don’t know…”

Over the last few decades, there had been reports of heavy paranormal activity at Fort Rodman. Things like footsteps following people, disembodied voices, and a few people had even reported seeing a full-bodied apparition of a sparkling man.

As interesting as all that was, there was a downside. There had been numerous disappearances in the area surrounding Fort Rodman in the last several years. Some believe it’s because the area is cursed, that the souls of soldiers and pirates still wandered the property. There was a chance that if you entered the grounds at night, you might never come back. Others were convinced it was the work of a meticulous serial killer. I was on the fence.

“This is the chance of a lifetime, Bella. We’ll be in a group. Come on, please?”

I leaned back in my chair, crossing my arms against my chest. “Fine. Figure out all the details.”

He was right, it was the chance of a lifetime.

Sparklin’ apparition? Hmmm, wonder what that might be? Let’s find out…

I gave a heavy sigh, rubbing my hands over my face. It’d been a couple of hours since everyone headed out. I’d watched each of the cameras like a hawk, but continued to come up empty handed. At least I knew both teams were at least having similar experiences to what they had last time, so it wasn’t a total bust.

“Hey guys, how about switching spots?” I radioed out to them, to which everyone agreed.

My eyes were glued to the cameras set up at the battery. I was curious to see if maybe Jess and Tyler exiting the area might stir something up. I sat back in my chair, disappointed to see them emerge and leave the area.

I turned my focus over to the cameras set up at the fort, watching as Eric and Angela exited. I knew it would be a few moments before either team reached their new destination.

I turned my attention back to the battery. My eyes widened in fear and I covered my mouth in an attempt to block out my scream as I took in the image before me. There, staring up at the camera, was definitely a man. It was no apparition. I watched as he turned toward the noise of Angela and Eric approaching. I grabbed my radio. “Everyone head back to the van, now!”

And what frustrates the hell outta Bella is that no one else on her team can see a damn thing on the tapes!

Remember my remark about From Dusk Till Dawn? Keep it in mind LOL!

ROB ATTACK

Like clockwork the bittersweet end of August rolled around, bringing with it the steady rumble of motorcycles for the annual biker rodeo. Only this time it was different. This time it brought Masen. AH MC Bikerward

Rated: Fiction M – English – Bella, Edward – Words: 1,826 – Reviews: 47 – Favs: 107 – Follows: 213 – Published: Oct 29 – id: 13420151

Dragging Pegs — Leaning so far into a curve that the foot pegs drag on the road surface — not done on purpose

This story just started postin’ so there’s only one chapter up but no way was I gonna wait to rec a tatted up Bikerward, especially not one bein’ written by Jonesn!

Every year like clockwork the bittersweet end of August rolled around, bringing with it the start of a new school year and the steady rumble of motorcycles as they passed back and forth through town.

One by one, RVs, cars, and bikes alike lined up outside the entrance to the county fairgrounds, patiently waiting for the gates to open so they could finally set up to party. And party they did. All. Week. Long.

I closed my eyes to try and center myself, opening them back up to catch a group of guys staring at the booth from across the crowd.

One in particular.

Given the distance, fine details were hard to make out but I could tell he was the “handsome” one, but in that rugged sort of way. Like James Dean with a pack of cigarettes rolled up in his sleeve and a five o’clock shadow. If possible, his dark hair was wilder with no products containing the sides.

The gray T-shirt he had on was well worn with a tear at the collar. His shoulders filled it out nicely, rounding down to a pair of strong arms that were littered with colorful tattoos.

My gaze roamed back up to his face, my stomach dropping when he smirked. I glanced away without returning the smile.

“Who were you looking at?” Alice asked with a knowing smirk on her face.

See, smirks were no good. Smirks got you into trouble. As did dimples. I was a sucker for a good dimple.

“No one.”

“Okay. Okay. But seriously, which one is he? Point him out to me.”

“Absolutely not.”

“Come on, come on, come on.”

“No.”

Customers started lining up. I rose from my seat to get away from Alice and greet them. When the last person in line approached I nearly choked on my tongue.

Long fingers lifted black Oakleys to nest in a mess of brown hair. Green eyes sparkled in the sunlight, fine laugh lines framing them. That smirk of his wasn’t so easy to ignore up close and personal. Especially when I didn’t have the option to look away.

Yeah, handsomely rugged didn’t even begin to cover it.

*LE SIGH!*

Well, lookee here, Eewee darlin’! This one’s complete, although she’s got a lemony epilogue in mind we’re encouragin’ her to write *wink!*

“Do you think the universe fights for souls to be together? Some things are too strange and strong to be coincidence.” Warned by fate as tender children that their soulmates were out there somewhere waiting for them; Bella, Alice and Rosalie struggle to navigate college and dating until one special night, when everything suddenly falls into place…

Rated: Fiction M – English – Romance/Humor – Chapters: 5 – Words: 17,400 – Reviews: 126 – Favs: 156 – Follows: 267 – Updated: Oct 24 – Published: Oct 20 – Status: Complete – id: 13413744

Bella has already met and fallen hard for Edward Cullen. Things take a strange turn when she meets his roommate, Jasper!

Jasper offered his hand for her to shake. It was then that Edward noticed the star-struck look on Bella’s face. She was just standing there loosely grasping Jasper’s hand and staring at him blankly. Edward glanced at Jasper’s face, relieved to see honest confusion at Bella’s behavior, and not the same dazed stare.

Bella suddenly snapped out of her fog of Déjà vu, jerking her hand back and looking around at the apartment strangely.

“Umm can you guys just hang on one second?” She requested nervously. “You’re single, right?” She asked of Jasper offhandedly as she pulled out her iPhone. Edward knew the look on his face could only be described as incredulous and he was really fucking concerned about the longevity of his current relationship. Bella hits a name from her favorite contacts page and raises the screen to her ear, chewing at her nails tensely as she waits for someone to answer. A female voice suddenly comes on the line, cheerfully talking a mile a minute. Bella tries several times to break into the one-sided conversation, getting more and more anxious before finally raising her voice to a yell.

“Pixie! Code Red!” The silence is deafening as Bella took a deep breath before swiftly spilling her message. “Ali, do you remember when we were kids and we would pretend we were princesses and I told you we would each find our Prince Charming one day, and you did your amazing ‘stare into the beyond – see the future shit’ and said it wasn’t you that would find your perfect man, that I’d be the one to find him for you?” Bella glanced nervously at the rooms other occupants, who were looking more and more confused as rapid talking and excited squeals emitted from the iPhone receiver. Bella’s responses were equally rapid. “Yep. His best friend. Yes. No. Nope! Not telling. Because the first time you hear his name is going to be in his own voice and you’ll thank me for it later. I love you too, bitch. Yep, dropping a pin to your cell.” She said the last part in a raised voice, as she pulled the screen away from her face and fired off a text before bringing the speaker back to her ear. “See you in 30. Bring Ro, I have a feeling hers is here too. There’s a pair of shoes by the door only a mammoth could fill,” she takes a quick peek at Edward’s average-sized sneaker-clad feet, then Jasper in similarly sized boots, “and I saw comic books on the bookcase… DC. Look ya skinny bitch, these are not the first graphic novels I’ve seen and, I shit you not, them bitches are in plastic sleeves. I know, I’m in the effin twilight zone!” Bella looked around the room one more time. “No, no girl stuff anywhere that I can see. I know. Love you, too. Bye.” She disconnects the call and slowly turns to face the men. “So umm… that probably seemed weird.” She blushes and fidgets awkwardly. When they don’t say anything, she speaks again. “Well I doubt I can make it much weirder so I’ll just ask… who’s supporting the DC Comics Universe and rocking the clown shoes?” Edward sputters for a moment before responding.

“Uhh…” Edward clears his throat, “that would be our other roommate, Emmett. He’s pretty tall…” When he drifted off and didn’t say anything more, Bella prodded again.

“Tall, single and into blondes?” She asks in a reaching tone. Edward gives Jasper a seriously confused look.

“Ok, yeah, I’m gonna go with very, very weird.”

Even though it’s marked complete, I want MORE!

Hope these’ll do you for now! Got any new ones to share?

Happy Wednesday, y’all!
